A specht-acular life: April 2012
http://aspechtacularlife.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Has anyone seen those Subaru commercials where the dad is reminding the little 5 yr oldish girl about safe driving and then she says "dad I know" and finally he hands over the keys to a teenager. That commercial gets me lately as it feels like the kids are growing up so fast and I can't stop them! Pretty soon they will be those teenagers and will be driving off. He had his first music program at school last week. We were all unsure how he would do. Would he sing along? Here he is...

blah blah blog: SUPERBOWL!
http://karinanne.blogspot.com/2011/01/superbowl.html
Do I really need to expand on that? The Pack were well matched yesterday against the Bears. It was a good game. Despite having to on/off work during the game, I enjoyed watching. I had some friends over and cooked "Sunday Night Pasta". It was delicious. And I have tons of leftover sauce. So if anyone wants some (maybe I'll bring to the cabin? Sunday Meat Sauce with Orecchiette. Based on Food Network Mag). 3 slices white bread, toasted and cut into 1/4" pieces. 2 lb meatloaf mix (pork, beef, veal). 2 Heat...

Prairie Tales: June 2014

New country, new adventures. June 29, 2014. Just Me and My Mom. One of Annabel's favorite books is Mercer Meyer's Just Me and My Mom. This month we have plenty of time to practice the scenes! Eric took a work trip to South Africa for 10 days, was home of 4 and then off to California for half a week. It's conference season, but be in-between presentations, he is able to have fun. He was able to meet up with our friends Cameron and Brent and they took in a baseball game and lots of golf. One very rainy Sat...

New country, new adventures. April 20, 2014. Happy, Happy Easter! Happy Easter to all of our friends and family! We hope you are all enjoying a nice dinner together. We will join in our hearts from afar. We have been enjoying our four day (yes! Easter weekend so far. Even though Eric has spent most of Friday and Saturday grading essays I'm sure he now wishes he hadn't assigned, we've been able to do some fun Easter activities. We made homemade play dough. It brought back memories of my parents making...

Prairie Tales: Welcome Hadley Emelia!
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2015/02/welcome-hadley-emelia.html
New country, new adventures. February 19, 2015. We are so thrilled to welcome our new daughter Hadley Emelia into our family! She is so sweet and calm and we look forward to many happy moments with her. She was born Monday January 12, 2012 via scheduled c-section at 4:14pm. She weighted 6lbs 7 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Eric and I, and many family members, had once again guessed boy and larger than Annabel (she was 7 lbs, 7 oz), but we were wrong. Check out the umbilical cord. Amazing. Nkle, T i.

Prairie Tales: August 2013
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
New country, new adventures. August 19, 2013. Going to The Lake is a big thing around here. Oftentimes church is near empty in the summer because everyone is at The Lake. This past weekend, we got a chance to go with Eric's co-worker to their family cabin on Emma Lake, which is a little over 2 hours north of Saskatoon. The main beach was packed on such a beautiful day. Eric and Bill went to watch the Rider game. Annabel took a nap and I got to sit on this porch and read a magazine! Links to this post.

A specht-acular life: Photo Challenge
http://aspechtacularlife.blogspot.com/2014/03/photo-challenge.html
Tuesday, March 18, 2014. I have fallen really behind in my daily attempt. Instead of scrapping the idea all together, I plan to modify it to be a weekly challenge instead. The daily routines at home are a bit harder with Jason traveling so much. The last thing the kids want is a camera in their face. They seem to just want food, attention, books and screen time after school. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Photo 365: Day 61. Enjoying the Small Things. Cabo, mexico 2015. A specht-acular life: Photo 365: Day 61
http://aspechtacularlife.blogspot.com/2014/03/photo-365-day-61.html
Sunday, March 2, 2014. Photo 365: Day 61. One of my friends started a meal exchange and invited me it. It is a great concept where we make 6 of the same meal and then swap with each other so we end up with 6 different freezer meals for the month. So far it has been a great success and super convenient to always have a pre-made meal ready in the freezer when we need it. Our March contribution was a Chicken Parmesan Casserole. Here is a link to the recipe if interested. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A specht-acular life: February 2014

Monday, February 10, 2014. Photo 365: Day 28 - 34. Falling a little behind! Day 28} A line up of characters watching a parade. There was just something about this that made me smile. Day 29} As I am taking this challenge. I make sure to capture our daily life. This is a prime example of exactly that. Dinner time proves to be a challenge when Jason is out of town. If Zoey does not have a distraction while I am making dinner, well this is what happens. Day 30} What can I say about this day? Letters A to Z.

A specht-acular life: May 2012

Friday, May 18, 2012. Take me out to the ball game! It is that time of year, baseball has begun! We were thrilled to sign up for the Miracle League again this year. The program is so wonderful and just what Owen needs - and what we need to see! Here was his buddy last night. Griffin. He was so patient with Owen and very encouraging. Owen just called him buddy. He has such concentration as he tries to hit that ball. Zoey made it to her first of many games. Thanks to the help from Auntie Erin! Sometimes ju...
