See Kate Read: July 2010

http://www.seekatereadbooks.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Written by Mary Morrison. Published by David C. Cook in 1905. Joe is a lazy 16 year old boy, so his uncle sends him to work at a lumbercamp. Joe learns to work, the value of money, the vice of gambling, and the meaning of success. A fun, quick look into the early 20th century. I enjoyed it. Not very deep characters or storyline, but a fun book. Joe gambles away his money. Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground Railroad. Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground Railroad.

Friday, March 15, 2013. Everybody Sees the Ants. Everybody Sees the Ants. Author: A.S. King. Genre: Social Issues, Violence. Publisher: Little, Brown Books. This is honestly a life-changing book. It's a story of sadness, despair, weakness, strength, triumph, and family. Everybody Sees the Ants. The book rings true in many ways, on every page. 8220;The world is full of assholes. See Kate Read: August 2010

http://www.seekatereadbooks.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Written by John Green. Published by Speak in 2009. Pure Awesomeness, Romance, Adventure, Journey. Totally loved it. Although the plot may sound a bit stale, it's gripping and unpredictable. The characters are very well done- not at all the typical HS romance. I got a side cramp from laughing while reading it, but it also has some deeper themes woven into it as well. This is one book I had to buy. Language, sexual references, crude humor. Monday, April 8, 2013. Written by Elizabeth Wein. I haven't posted for a while. That's because I was reading Code Name Verity. Usually I'm able to coast through YA novels in a day or two, or really any book really, but a few will make me slow down and ponder. Code Name Verity. Did that to me. It demanded more time. And lets her live until she finishes writing. Here are a few shining quotes:. Of what they will do to you is every bit as sickening in a dream as when it is really going to happen.”. This is a...

Tales From Our Wonderful One-Acre Farm. Baby, it's cold outside. Tuesday, December 21, 2010. I haf a head cowd. I mean: I have a head cold. This is no bueno. I am a receptionist. My job is to talk to people. I lost my voice. How am I supposed to sound happy when I can barely sound alive? Oh dear. What if they think I'm a weird old lady who's been smoking for the past 10 years? Or what if they think I'm a creepy dude with a girl name? They won't want to come in and meet me. And I have a date tomorrow.

Tales From Our Wonderful One-Acre Farm. Baby, it's cold outside. Thursday, April 29, 2010. I wonder what would happen if someone actually re-invented the wheel. What would it look like? When I make a PB&J, I always start by putting the peanut butter on the left piece of bread. Is this universal? I think referees are not given enough encouragement. I think that someday I'm going to dress up in their colors, go to a game, and cheer every time they make a call. Who came up with "Blue Raspberry"? 5 Why did I...

http://wonderfuloneacrefarm.blogspot.com/2011/01/happy-new-year.html

Tales From Our Wonderful One-Acre Farm. Baby, it's cold outside. Saturday, January 1, 2011. Last night I got home from a long week of working. And by "long" I mean more than 40 hours and sometimes getting home at 10 pm. So I really didn't even think about New Year's Eve until I walked in the door. Basically, I spent the evening eating Chinese take-out, reading books I gave as Christmas presents, and napping on the couch. Hmm Harder than I thought. So what's left to pick? Fortune cookies. Perfect. One of ...

Tales From Our Wonderful One-Acre Farm. Baby, it's cold outside. Monday, December 27, 2010. 1 Sometimes I leave the water on while I brush my teeth, even though I know it's bad for the environment. 2 I licked a lot of frosting and batter and cookie dough bowls this week. 3 I have a mild argyle sock fetish. I got 10 pairs for Christmas. 4 Because I'm greatly lacking in household items, I plan on somewhat bumming off my roommates. 5 Toy Story 3 made me cry. December 28, 2010 at 8:21 AM.
