I Found Out the Hard Way…. October 17, 2014. That the pin on a half mortise chest lock is not in the center of the lock! The lock is centered, but the escutcheon is not! Perhaps I should have read Glen Huey’s blog. Before I installed the lock. Oh well he found out the same way! Of course I used a router plane to install mine.

Re-Tote Your Bench Plane (Part 3). February 17, 2017. Here is a wooden jack plane, it has minimal checking and no major cracks. With a bit of time and a new tote this could be a very nice user. Making a Panel Saw (Part 3). January 30, 2015. I got a bit of work done on the handle this week. I used chisels, gouges, and spokeshaves to remove the saw marks on the outside of the profile and the inside of the grip. I started the rasp work, and promptly remembered that the last time I made a saw handle. Posted in Hand Tools.
