Who doesn’t love roses: December 2007
http://asmallgreenangel.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Who doesn’t love roses. And who doesn’t love the lilies of the black ponds floating like flocks of tiny swans, and of course, the flaming trumpet vine where the hummingbird comes like a small green angel -Mary Oliver. Monday, December 17, 2007. Obviously I'm way behind in my You Tube watching. Is this kind of "reality" video appealing because these days it's so much of what we watch is over-produced? Is this an appeal to "reality" and/or "authenticity"? Is there a name for this phenomenon/style? Instead, ...

Just a girl: Quick Catch Up
http://just-a-girl-jennie.blogspot.com/2008/07/quick-catch-up.html
The life of just another girl trying to make it in science. Thursday, July 3, 2008. On west coast now. Husband drove the whole way. We went over 2000 miles in two days, stopping in Wyoming Monday night to sleep from 11pm to 5am. Feel like I'm on vacation but really would like to find a place to live, resubmit (and submit) manuscripts and finish revised dissertation. Will likely not be reading 85 entries in google reader. I don't feel like a doctor yet, even though everyone is congratulating me. Good luck...

Teaching and Service and Scholarship! Oh My!: Negotiating
http://tenuretracknewbie.blogspot.com/2007/07/negotiating.html
Teaching and Service and Scholarship! SWF on the search for tenure and a happy-ever-after. Thursday, July 12, 2007. There has been a discussion on the blogs ( Lesboprof. Over negotiations. I have to say, that sometimes it matters in which division you apply. Research start-up is a much more sensitive point than a leather office chair in the sciences, when you're bargaining over 6 figures (and yes, science tenure track newbies, you can get 6 figs even at a SLAC! It won't get you tenure! In The Same Boat.

Teaching and Service and Scholarship! Oh My!: Me Tarzan you Jane
http://tenuretracknewbie.blogspot.com/2007/07/me-tarzan-you-jane.html
Teaching and Service and Scholarship! SWF on the search for tenure and a happy-ever-after. Tuesday, July 10, 2007. Me Tarzan you Jane. Not to worry. This is not an explicit post about me being dragged off to a tree house by a man wearing a leather loin garment. It's fortunately more harmless. I have been pondering for a while on what Amanda I. Seligman has addressed in her First Person. Narrative over at The Chronicle: How should students address you? I'd say start formal- you can retreat if you don't li...

Just a girl: January 2010
http://just-a-girl-jennie.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
The life of just another girl trying to make it in science. Friday, January 22, 2010. I was just musing over a comment my boss made and about how much it bothers me that he does this. I wanted to muse out loud and remembered I have this blog that I technically retired from. Still, I'd like to know the thoughts of my internet friends about this-if you still tune in. So what do you think. Is it ok for him to talk this way about others? I feel like the message is just but the delivery is pompous and rude.

The life of just another girl trying to make it in science. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. She is such a hard worker, she even worked while taking care of her mother,. Give her a break since she's been at home taking care of her mother. Or I don't know. But this is how big boss. Is, very personal. And into other people's personal business. Do you think gender had anything to do with it? I think I may need to revisit this in a post at some point in the near future. August 16, 2009 at 12:15 PM. And have a job w...

The life of just another girl trying to make it in science. Sunday, February 21, 2010. Sorry for being late-traffic you know. I've been to so many baby showers and I just want to let all the other attendee's know that I win at most games. I've never left a baby shower empty handed :). I just want to leave you with one piece of advice. Never forget to be grateful. Life will be difficult but always go back to the joy of your little one-if when they are the one being difficult. Teaching and Service and Scholarship! SWF on the search for tenure and a happy-ever-after. Thursday, June 7, 2007. What a bunch of trollops and casanovas at this summit in Heiligendamm. The globally anticipated agenda was supposed to be climate control. After the debate German Chancellor Angela Merkel is eager to announce to the press the oh-so-wonderful accomplishments of the summit. And what are they? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
