Learning to See Clearly: Rereading Genesis
http://hokieemt.blogspot.com/2010/04/rereading-genesis.html
Learning to See Clearly. Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. In my last post I mentioned how friend said my story reminded him of the curse that came from the fall. I was reading Genesis again, it felt like it might apply after that discussion. God was walking through the garden looking for them but out of shame they hid. That hits really hard. We still thought we knew better. The issue is much deeper than that it seems. Learning to See Clearly. Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Why I Must Leave. So even as recently as last May I was still convinced I would never want to leave Blacksburg. It is a great town. I have loved my time here. There is no way I would be the man I am without being her now. Of this I am sure. But as graduation comes ever quicker I am more and more sure that by the time the new Freshmen arrive I must be gone. 1 Find a job. Leaving awesome rela...

A New Chapter: June 2012
http://stephaniegertson.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
My Life in Pictures. The Story of Us. Friday, June 29, 2012. About a month ago I went to a Christian bookstore and picked up the book One Thousand Gifts. Job, even this one. I had to constantly choose to swallow my pride and not think about the fact that I have a Master's degree and was getting paid very little to take care of LOTS of children. I invite you to read this book and start seeing each moment as a blessing. Sometimes all we need is a little change of perspective. Saturday, June 2, 2012. Three ...

A New Chapter: God's Providence: Part 3
http://stephaniegertson.blogspot.com/2013/08/gods-providence-part-3.html
My Life in Pictures. The Story of Us. Saturday, August 31, 2013. God's Providence: Part 3. This is the third part in a five part series of how God brought together the Bible study that I am in. You can read my part. If you haven't already. This is Ashley's (different than the previous Ashlee) version of the story. She did such a wonderful job expressing how God was working throughout this time. So here is the story from my point of view:. Well, God had other things in mind and He did see the point!

Learning to See Clearly. Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Thank You Mere Christianity Journal. So for Christmas (either this last one or the one before) my parents got my brothers and I a hard copy of Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis and a companion journal. I graciously accepted but since I have a copy of Mere Christianity and I usually find these guided journals worthless I was not that interested. The chapter was on faith, the discussion question?

A New Chapter: Somehow we got a dog...
http://stephaniegertson.blogspot.com/2013/10/somehow-we-got-dog.html
My Life in Pictures. The Story of Us. Thursday, October 10, 2013. Somehow we got a dog. I honestly had no intention of coming home with a dog. Renee and I managed to drag Philip along with us. Well, it only took about 5 minutes with him in the petting room before we realized we wanted to take him home right then and there! Philip was actually the one that suggested it first! So we went from not being ready to get a dog to adopting a 2 year old dog with heart worms! Jody and Ruth Been. Dogs are the absolu...

Learning to See Clearly: Trusting God?
http://hokieemt.blogspot.com/2010/04/trusting-god.html
Learning to See Clearly. Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Ironically I was tasked lately with planning for Home-group on the topic of work. I say ironically because I am unemployed. As I tried to prepare this discussion I kept being drawn to Matthew 25. This is the three part parable about what the kingdom of God is like: the 10 virgins awaiting the bridegroom, the master who goes on a long journey (parable of the talents), and the goats and sheep.

Learning to See Clearly. Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18. Thursday, February 18, 2010. About two weeks ago now, in Home Group, we were looking at Psalm 100. Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his;. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving,. And his courts with praise! For the LORD is good;.

My Life in Pictures. The Story of Us. Wednesday, August 21, 2013. God's Providence: Part 2. This is the second part in a five part series on how God brought together the Bible study that I am now a part of. If you haven't read my version of the story, you can do that here. This is Ashlee's version of the story. I was in tears the first time I read it. It truly is amazing to see how God works. I hope you are encouraged by what Ashlee has to say. Ashlee with her husband Chris, and son, Brayden. Throughout ...

My Life in Pictures. The Story of Us. Monday, July 9, 2012. What one year of marriage has taught me. A year ago today I married my best friend. A year ago today I started a journey that I was sure would be exciting. A year ago today I didn't. Know some things about marriage that I do. I am a sinful, prideful human that thinks my way is the right way most of the time. Marriage has taught me that my way is the wrong. Way most of the time! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What one year of marriage has taught me.
