SeetheWoods, Simply Food

Sunday, 30 January 2011. I'll admit it doesn't look like much in all its beigeness, but corn soup is one of those cheap and easy throw together soups that takes almost no time to prepare and cook and it taste delicious. As sweet and light as you need it to be in Summer while still being a great canvas to carry a bit of stodge in Winter, it's a versatile little bowlful for any time of the year. 2 roasted red peppers, chopped*. 1 medium onion, finely chopped. 2 tbls vegetable oil. 1/2 cup of milk or cream.

SeetheWoods, Simply Food: June 2010

http://seethewoodsandtherecipes.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, 27 June 2010. I've made over a hundred pieces of this chicken today and didn't even break a sweat doing it. When Summer rolls around my favourite meals are often the quickest and easiest to throw together and this chicken fits the bill perfectly. 3lb chicken pieces (roughly 20 pieces depending on size). 3 tblsp dark brown sugar. 1 tblsp paprika (smoked, sweet or regular). 15 tsp ground black pepper. 2 tsp chili powder. 1 tsp garlic powder. 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. 4 tblsp oil of choice. What bette...

SeetheWoods, Simply Food: Lemon Squares

http://seethewoodsandtherecipes.blogspot.com/2010/04/lemon-squares.html

Wednesday, 7 April 2010. This is a really quick and easy food processor recipe, but it does mean that I have naff all in the way of "in progress" photos:). Preheat oven to 180C (350F). 2 cups plain flour. 1 cup cold butter, in smallish pieces. 1/2 cup icing sugar. 1/2 cup coconut - flaked or desiccated. 1/4 cup plain flour. 2 cups white caster sugar. 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice. 1 teaspoon baking powder. Greased and lined 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan. Once baked remove the baking pan from the oven and place on a ...

SeetheWoods, Simply Food: Chapatis

http://seethewoodsandtherecipes.blogspot.com/2009/01/chapatis.html

Thursday, 1 January 2009. I've been absolutely addicted to these lately. I only learnt how to make them a few weeks ago (shameful I know) but I haven't stopped since. I figured since I'm a very nice person, I'd pass on the world's simplest recipe. We're having a bit of a potato famine in the SeetheWoods House lately because of price and quality and I've replaced the humble spud with these. 12oz plain or wholemeal flour. You can make the dough and cover until you're ready to use. This is the basic recipe,...

SeetheWoods, Simply Food: Watercress Soup

http://seethewoodsandtherecipes.blogspot.com/2010/07/watercress-soup.html

Saturday, 10 July 2010. After Chloe arrived home from school in the last week of term with a thimble full of watercress which quickly became a hedgerow once she'd planted it in the garden, I had to find a way of using it. Daily salads just weren't cutting through it fast enough and it was threatening to overtake the garden. To say that this is a recipe is probably a bit of a stretch as it's incredibly simple to make, but it was also delicious so here we go . A large bunch of fresh watercress. Remove the ...

SeetheWoods, Simply Food: August 2009

Sunday, 16 August 2009. Because when you think about it you can always whip this up, pull the curtains, turn on the travel channel and pretend the sun is shining. Pavlova is pretty easy to make. If you've tried before without success though chances are you need to up the amount of sugar in the recipe and always remember to leave the pavlova in the oven to cool, yes it takes ages, but it just isn't the same otherwise. Next gather your ingredients together. You will need;. 4 large egg whites. Start off wit...

http://seethewoodsandthetrees.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

All of my shops were closed for a little while, but you'll be glad to hear that both my Etsy. Shops are now back up and running again. I'm still working through my Wow Thank You shop but it's getting there (oh for a 30 hour day). So anyway, all the custom orders I've been making happily fall into three sizes, all right more than that if you count ipads and phones etc, but the Kindle and tablet cases are now available to buy in three sizes and all are ready to ship. Leanne Woods Designs: The post Christmas catch up.

http://seethewoodsandthetrees.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-post-christmas-catch-up.html

The post Christmas catch up. Three weeks since Christmas and I still haven't got everything back to 'normal'. I do love Christmas, with the tree and the food and the decorations and the food and a toasty warm fire, and did I mention the food? So, basically, not much happening around here other than laying around snuggled under blankets and watching a lot of movies to pass the time. I've knitted the squares in two strands of dk yarn on 7mm needles, casting on 18 stitches and knitting 27 rows, casting off ...

Are now in stock and available in more fabrics than you can shake a big pointy stick at. And loads more still to come, available in two sizes. I should point out that they're very well padded so that big pointy stick probably won't do you much good, you might just as well put it down and pop the kettle on instead:). Links to this post. This is what happens if you take your eyes off my husband for more than a minute! Links to this post. What a lovely pair. Oh all right then, if spelling's more important than funny, I mean pear:). Do you remember earlier in the year, after a couple of years of no pears whatsoever I said I would go out into the garden, cotton wool in hand and give the bees a little help this year? Might have went a bit over board! Links to this post. Think I know what we might be doing this weekend. Links to this post.

Girl's Brigade Ribbons - A Quicky Tutorial. It's nearly that time again . the GB Parade! Everything else is perfectly manageable, the white shoes, the right socks, those awful PE knickers, no problem! Even the ribbons aren't a bother. Ribbons in the hair . well that's different. Hair and ribbon is like oil and water, the two just don't mix. Even Chloe's mass of curly hair manages to shrug them off in no time. Mothers of straight haired kiddies, I feel your pain. Leanne Woods Designs: September 2011

http://seethewoodsandthetrees.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

A few small changes. I've finally managed to set aside some time for a think lately, about my life, my normal day to day and my shop, more specifically the direction I need my shop to go in. I don't know what it is about the Summer holidays but they always seem to set me off on a "new things" kick and while there's nothing wrong with that, it can be too easy to let it get out of hand and all this development can put a lot of strain on a girl's time. The card and coin purses will stay. The large ladies wa...

Back to square one . and happy about it! For those who don't remember last year was one of our worst. We've had some real stinkers but last year's bar was world record limbo low. It sucked! Robert, after being coaxed away to work for what turned out to be a Mickey Mouse company run by a scummy dying liar, found himself out of work for most of last year. I could be civil and bite my tongue about it at the time, I'd bigger things to worry about after all, but now! Chloe's picked up on it as well. We tr...

Life Is A Travel.
