I know I posted pictures months ago about the early processionals for Lent here in Antigua, but nothing could really prepare me for Semana Santa (Holy Week). Not all who wander are lost. Monday, July 23, 2012. First impressions of Cusco. Plaza de Armas - main square in Cusco. View from my host family's house. The streets here are really narrow. Beautiful balcony and Peruvian flag. Yup, still love doors. Yep, there really are people dressed in traditional costumes wandering through town. This kind of describes the way traffic works (or doesn't at times) in Cusco. Everything in Cusco is either up or down hill. Square in San Blas neighborhood. Temple of the Sun.

I met this homeless woman sitting outside of the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. She had come from Germany and told me she had traveled the world. She sat in one of the busiest doors in New York during rush hour, and few people stopped to even glance at her. But despite her troubles, she had the brightest eyes, and the most gentle smile.
