Jane is the only student who I teach online (by skype) and she keeps on posting her ideas and reflections on many interesting topics. One of the them is reflection on our English classes. So, it’s great, I suppose! Jane, thanks for inspiration and God bless you in your striving for excellence in your learning process.

Travel, learn, make friends. Yesterday after reading a lovely post by Sandy Millin with wonderful pictures of the Crimea. That I love soooo much I decided to post about my favourite place of visiting, but to add some self-development flavor and somehow things connected to language learning. And here goes. Today my post is not related to ELT, but who told I was going to post only about those things? Have a nice weekend and thanks for reading! An activity for drilling irregular verbs. Liked by 1 person.

An activity for drilling irregular verbs | Enséñame

An activity for drilling irregular verbs. Posted in Teaching Reflection. When my students used to study irregular verbs, I always started my lessons with asking them to repeat after me. After a chat with my Curriculum Manager (we were discussing new games with irregular verbs among other things) and having told her about my idea to realize my favourite idea, I suddenly thought about trying something new and just watch how it would work? Tell me, I’ll forget. Show me, I’ll remember. The next speaking game.

To run for running… | Enséñame

To run for running…. Posted in Teaching Reflection. I’d like to begin with a story. Once upon a time the Russian sportsmen found out that in Tibet there was a monastery where during one religious festival the monks used to run about 80 km. Sportsmen became interested in this achievement and sent their people to learn from the experience. The monks were asked to demonstrate their art. At first, Tibetans did not understand what the Russians wanted from them. Why run when there s no festival? So, these ques...

I would like to thank my Curriculum Manager Olga Sergeeva for her expert advice and encouragement throughout this challenging idea to start posting in my own blog. Your support in this project is extraordinary. This blog would have been impossible without your inspiring me while having conversations and discussions. Thanks to my parents as well, Vasiliy and Valentina Zernovs. Your encouragement when the times got rough is much appreicated and duly noted. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

8220;Enséñame” has become my everyday prayer and mantra. I remember times of trouble when I needed advice and support and I was sure I was able to get everything I needed, because someone would be with me and would show me, and would teach me…. I want to ask readers not to perceive this word as my wish to teach everybody. I just can not do it and, honestly, I do not strive for it. “Enséñame” still works for me as a prayer. I want to be taught and I want to be shown the way. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Present Perfect vs Past Simple. An activity. Posted in General English. It s a pleasure to be back, and I m about to be bombing you with new blog-posts. Here comes one more. And it’s going to be practical with description of an activity for finding out (and analyzing) the difference between Present Perfect and Past Simple. Changed it a bit, then gave it to my students. Here comes the outline. Have you ever eaten really spicy food? What did you eat? 8211; I ate sushi. – When did you eat it? Later on I ask...

My favourite metacognitive activity so far | Enséñame
https://annazernova.wordpress.com/2015/07/13/my-favourite-metacognitive-activity-so-far
My favourite metacognitive activity so far. Posted in Teaching Reflection. Ask your students to write 3-5 new words or word combinations they’ve learned at the lesson and share in pairs. What do I get by using this activity? Here’s the example of using post-it notes with a task to write 3 adjectives to describe customer service. This time I took it home to analyze and tomorrow I’m going to show them to students in the beginning of the lesson. Thanks for reading. Have a nice working week! Liked by 1 person.

Literature Summer 2015 | Enséñame

Posted in Professional Development. Does this only mean attending conferences, participating in seminars, reading professional books on teaching? Thanks to British Council in Moscow there are more opportunities for that, for sure. And one of them I was lucky to attend: Literature Summer Festival in Moscow. His presentation was about tricks in contemprorary English literature, how authors attract readears. The idea of the presentation was to give the listeners lots of quotations from English books, le...
