Sunday, July 05, 2009. Norfolk's Nar spared marina plan. SPARED: A view of Norfolk's River Nar. It might not be in the Premier League of rivers, where pike fishing's concerned. But Norfolk's humble River Nar could be spared plans for a marina which would see it diverted through the middle of a nature reserve. West Norfolk council wanted to change the course of the river so a marina could be built on the outskirts of King's Lynn. Now officials want to mothball the scheme because of the credit crunch.

Thursday, December 17, 2009. Newly reformed Region 13 - Devon, have announced their inaugural meeting to be held on Friday. January 29th 2010 at the Barge Inn, High St, Halberton, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 7AG. Their first Guest Speaker will be well known pike angler Julian Chidgey. The 27 year old Devon-based Korum consultant, who took a new personal best lure-caught fish of 32lb 14oz back in late October has caught 40 pike over 20lb in his career; 10 of which have been taken this season.
