http://selfnettues2.blogspot.com/2010/10/week-12-reflection.html
Thursday, October 21, 2010. I think it's difficult for a person to say whether they consider themselves a cyborg or not because 'cyborg' means different things to different people. I recognise the huge impact technology has had on the way we live as well as on our physical bodies (from caesarians to vaccinations to braces to knee reconstructions) but I don't feel comfortable calling myself a cyborg even after this unit. http://selfnettues2.blogspot.com/2010/10/unit-reflection-week-12.html
Sunday, October 24, 2010. Unit Reflection Week 12. It was 8.35 am and i had to get to work by 9am. It takes me half an hour which meant i was already going to be late. Should i go back and get it? How am i going to text? What if someone tries to call me? What if i break down on the way, how on earth was i going to contact RAC? Gasp* I caved in, took the next U-Turn and drove back home to get my mobile phone which i had left on charge and forgot to bring with me when i left the house. Cyborg much? Our inc...

Self.net tute wed@11: Last Words
http://selfnetwed11.blogspot.com/2010/10/last-words.html
Thursday, October 21, 2010. I really enjoyed this unit, as I have enjoyed all other Women's Studies units. I particularly enjoyed the contemporary feel this unit had - we constantly related all topics and discussions to current, contemporary and relatable issues/ideas. The unit really made me reconsider how we, as humans, interact and have come to rely on technology in this digital age. Do I think I am a cyborg? In terms of blogging for the unit, I had never blogged before EVER, so it was intersting to b...

Sunday, October 24, 2010. Week 12 Reflective post. Am I a Cyborg? My last favourite part of the unit is probably the webliography. I didn't find the assignment very useful or helpful. Thursday, October 21, 2010. Week 12 Reflection- Guia Reyna. I am really happy I took this unit as an elective this semester. It is really interesting and enjoyable. Technology, especially the Internet, is something I’ve always taken for granted. I never considered the Internet in contexts such as gender, race, and identity. I wish that our tutorials last more than one hour because more time is needed for thorough discussions. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). SelfNet: Identity in the Digital Age. Real ...

Self.net tute tues@2: Unit Reflection
http://selfnettues2.blogspot.com/2010/10/unit-reflection.html
Saturday, October 23, 2010. Self net has been an interesting unit of study this semester. It has encouraged me to think more seriously about the relationship between humans and technology. I repeatedly found myself asking: ‘am I a cyborg? 8217; followed by the even more daunting. ‘am I on the way to becoming a cyborg? To these questions I argued against such an absurd idea! 8216;I am me. Carla I’m no machine! It was a lot harder to explain ideas without the justification of expert opinions and other poin...
