In the last twenty years alone our fleet of push tugs and barges have moved over 58 million tonnes of bauxite in South America. JP Knight was founded 122 years ago in 1892 on the River Thames in London and is the UK’s oldest tug and barge owner. 1902 Steam Tug KITE. Launched in 1902, the KITE developed 325 indicated horse power and served the Thames and Medway rivers for 41 years. 1931 Diesel Tug KHURDAH.
