Thursday, March 15, 2012. Names You Should Not Use. I am teaching a number of courses this semester and am always struck by some of the names parents have cursed their children with over the years. Currently I am teaching a Teeheehee (an Indian from Mexico, maybe it means brave warrior or somethiing there but please). And I also have a JoSue. I am sure that Joe and Sue thought this was cute for their son, but really? And last semester I had Dandielion (spelled incorrectly as you see) as one of my students.

Tuesday, May 21, 2013. End of the semester. I noticed I have not been blogging but I am back. I have been working on trying to finish a textbook on terrorism, teaching a couple of extra courses to pay for Pepperdine, though Rhonda is in her last semester and will finish all course work in July. Thursday, July 4, 2013. We had a quiet but fun day. We are dog sitting Mia, the Lab next door. We went for a two mile walk and swam in the neighbor's pool; they are Mia's owners. The pool has shallow ends and Bella loves it. She did not love going down the slide, accidentally, but survived and found out she can swim! It was also 113 degrees. Enough already. Sunday, April 29, 2012. All: this was in the newspaper the other day and since I had everything but the cream cheese I tried it. It was really quick and easy; I used cheddar instead of the cream cheese and actually think a mix of both would be good. Try it. Prep time: 5 minutes. Cook time: 70 seconds (in the microwave oven). 1 1/2 tablespoons milk. 1/4 bagel (or similar amount of bread). 2 teaspoons cream cheese. 1/2 slice prosciutto or ham. Fresh thyme leaves or fresh chopped chives. At The Eye Doctor.
