Hockey Nonsense with an Ottawa Senators Bent. Back On The Blog. December 27, 2008. Hello to you Hammers coming over from Iain Dale’s blog. Just thought I’d let you know I’m a Spurs supporter. We don’t need Bellamy because Keane is on his way back to White Hart Lane]. Won’t be very happy about. The Senators have to fire Craig Hartsburg. They have to do it now. I watched the 2nd and 3rd periods of the Flyers game. I didn’t see one; not even ONE meaningful hit from the Senators. And lastly, Exhibit D. Inste...

Sens Army Blog - Ottawa Senators Blog: December 2009
http://sensarmy.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 7, 2009. It gives me no pleasure to announce that Sens Army Blog is going on hiatus until further notice. The reasons for this announcement are entirely personal, but not private (so read on). Maintaining a blog at a high level and being an opinion leader in any online forum is no easy task, and requires much time and dedication. Recently, I have had neither the time nor the interest required to maintain this blog at a high level. The Wedge and the Microscope. I have met (either online o...

Sens Army Blog - Ottawa Senators Blog: Season rests on shoulders of Brian Elliott, not Leclaire
http://sensarmy.blogspot.com/2010/10/season-rests-on-shoulders-of-brian.html
Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Season rests on shoulders of Brian Elliott, not Leclaire. I've been keeping an eye on a few different preseason rankings, and many of them seem to reference that Pascal Leclaire. Needs to have some sort of bounce-back season in order for the Senators to be successful. I would like to politely disagree with this premise. I mean other goalie, Brian Elliott. Posted by Ben Myers. Mike Fisher Sportsnet Ad: Awesome. Leclaire has made himself expendable. Season rests on shoulders of Br...

Daigle Or Bust: August 2007
http://daigleorbust.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Though the hockey news seems to be slow over the summer, it sure adds up. From gaining a new head coach in John Paddock. To possibly alienating their second longest serving player in Wade Redden. To restocking the Senators' minor league affiliate in Binghamton, much has changed since I last updated the night of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. While I wish I could retread to comment on the "news", analysing Tom Preissing. At Scotiabank Place), and discuss odds and ends in general.

Daigle Or Bust: December 2008
http://daigleorbust.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 4, 2008. Senators 5 Thrashers 1. Jeremy at Black Aces. The top line in the first period. It's too early to get excited, of course, but the slowly improving play over this six game stretch offers the most balanced play the Senators have offered since the 2006-07 playoffs. Consistent goaltending? Check A punishing group of blueliners? Check Defensive commitment from all five skaters on the ice at any given time? Check Penalty killing prowess? Check A threatening powerplay? Contributed a ...

Daigle Or Bust: April 2007
http://daigleorbust.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 29, 2007. Senators 2 Devils 3 (2OT). Alfredsson (4) from Spezza (4) and Heatley (5). Heatley (4) from Spezza (5) and Vermette (2). 1 for 6 on the PP. 5 for 7 on the PK. Emery stopped 30 of 33 shots. Attending Media 3 Stars:. Very, very honourable mention to Alfredsson. The bad will be dwelt upon by the media and fans enough over the next two days, as is the case with any Senators loss. So, initially, to focus on the good:. Posted at 1:11 AM. Thursday, April 26, 2007. Senators 5 Devils 4.

Daigle Or Bust: November Player of the Month
http://daigleorbust.blogspot.com/2008/12/november-player-of-month.html
Monday, December 1, 2008. November Player of the Month. After another losing month, there are not many players who can lay claim to having particularly positive November. Alex Picard. Made excellent strides after being paired with Filip Kuba and switching to the left side; Daniel Alfredsson. Recorded 11 points and was a 6 on a team that has been absolutely dire at even strength. But other than those two, the only decent performance rests at Alex Auld. In nets), and two goals or less on 10 of 12 nights.

Daigle Or Bust: Canadiens 3 - Senators 2 (SO)
http://daigleorbust.blogspot.com/2008/11/canadiens-3-senators-2-so.html
Friday, November 21, 2008. Canadiens 3 - Senators 2 (SO). Like this team just lost its 6th game. They are playing very good hockey right now and it will start to pay dividends soon enough, they just need to keep the energy up. Far from it, but as all of the league's top players attest, as long as a player or team is generating chances, it is only a matter of time before the pucks start going in, and once they do, they rarely stop. Daigle Or Bust: Thoughts on Spezza
http://daigleorbust.blogspot.com/2008/10/thoughts-on-spezza.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Jason Spezza is a weak player who avoids contact and plays like a pussy. . Spezza giggling in interviews signals immaturity and lack of character. Spezza is a defensive liability. This is commonly heard from casual fans, or fans of teams other than the Senators. They hear criticisms of Spezza's play and translate it into him being a defensive nightmare who the Senators can't trust in their own end. This is not remotely true; Spezza's biggest issue is with. Daigle Or Bust: October Player of the Month
http://daigleorbust.blogspot.com/2008/10/october-player-of-month.html
Friday, October 31, 2008. October Player of the Month. With honourable mentions to Jason Spezza. Who brought their A-games to most matches this past month, my consideration for the best Senator in the month of October goes to recently acquired blueliner Filip Kuba. Traded to Ottawa along with fellow defenseman Alexandre Picard. And San Jose's first round pick in exchange for young rearguard Andrej Meszaros. Kuba has averaged just a second short of 25:00 per night, in the range of players like Nik Lidstrom.
