Skip to main content. 31/3/2014 - Russ Jones. We conducted a piece of research to prove that we can all tell the difference between the sound of hot, and the sound of cold. We recorded pouring different temperature liquids, from a set height and set pace, into various receptacles and asked people to guess which was hot, and which was cold. 96% of participants got it correct. For a second experiment we took recordings of water being poured. Listen to these sounds and see if you can tell which is which.

The sound is delivered to the table on an iPod hidden inside a conch shell. Guests listen to the sounds on headphones as they eat the dish. M and S / Westfield.
