What’s in a Name? | Sensory Foundations - Occupational Therapy
https://sensoryfoundations.wordpress.com/2008/10/09/whats-in-a-name
Sensory Foundations – Occupational Therapy. Giving your child a solid foundation. Welcome to the Sensory Foundations Blog! What’s in a Name? October 9, 2008. I have been reading a lot of blogs about sensory integration (mostly written by parents) and in my own practice I have come across a number of parents who are saying that their child is being labelled as “the naughty child” in school. Now, I’m not a huge fan of labelling children but I am a huge fan of understanding. Implusive – children will ...

Sensory Foundations – Occupational Therapy. Giving your child a solid foundation. What’s in a Name? Save it for a Rainy Day. October 17, 2008. October is Sensory Awareness month – well in the States at least. But I thought I would take the opportunity to do a little awareness building anyway. I found this clip that I thought would be helpful as it explains what sensory integration dysfunction is and it also shows you what sensory integration therapy looks like. Feed for this Entry. Sensory Foundations – Occupational Therapy. Giving your child a solid foundation. Save it for a Rainy Day. November 28, 2008. It has been a while since I wrote the last blog and suddenly winter is really and truly upon us. My husband and I were fortunate enough to go to Egypt for a week of sunshine and there was an endless amount of exercise and activity available to us. Since being back in cold and rainy London our activity levels have drastically decreased. Tampettes are great fun. Get your child to li...

Adventures With Two Boys. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. Run for Row 2009. Most of you that I met some of my best friends on a mommy message board. We all met while planning on our weddings on theknot.com. And made our own little board later. Last November I made this post. About my dear friend Andrea. We made a pit stop first, to pick up our friend, Wendi. And party with Hair Razor. We had a few shots and partied like rock stars. I promise to put a real blog up soon. Here is the link: Photo Contest. At the...

Adventures With Two Boys: December 2008
http://adventureswithtwoboys.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Adventures With Two Boys. Friday, December 26, 2008. Someday, this will be funny. It has a handle bar and it plays music and it had a volume control. Perfect! Leigh and I sat with some margaritas, just listening to the obscenities coming out of the bedroom (keep it clean, this is a family blog. ;) We knew to just stay out of the way and let the men be men. Finally after an hour and a half, it was put together. Fabulous! So husbands, listen to your wives. We usually have a simpler solution. :). Later in t...

Adventures With Two Boys: Our Graduates
http://adventureswithtwoboys.blogspot.com/2009/06/our-graduates.html
Adventures With Two Boys. Thursday, June 4, 2009. The last week has been very busy. We feel incredibly blessed that both of their teachers were fabulous. First, Ethan graduated from Kindergarten. He is so excited to go to first grade and get to play on the big playground AND eat lunch at school. I don't think he realizes just how long the actual school day is but hopefully he will adjust. Here are some pics from Ethan's graduation:. High five from his teacher. Ethan and I (and some tears). Each new stage...

http://adventureswithtwoboys.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Adventures With Two Boys. Friday, February 27, 2009. Ryan has FINALLY given up his binkie. Greg put him down for a nap one day and decided no binkie. And it worked. He has asked for it a couple of times since then but I just remind him that he is a big boy and doesn't need a binkie anymore. One of Ry's last days with his bink. And yes, he was carrying around 2 in his mouth. Next up: Sippy cup and Potty training! Ethan's first BlueJackets Game! We had a ball! Aunt Aunt Amity enjoying some popcorn. This ti...

http://adventureswithtwoboys.blogspot.com/2009/06/kelly-camping-2009.html
Adventures With Two Boys. Friday, June 12, 2009. We had our annual Syferd camping trip last weekend. Because of Ryan's graduation, Ethan and Greg headed up Thursday and Ryan and I drove out Friday morning. The boys loved the beach and the little wading pool. Ethan loved cooking with daddy and looking for firewood. Ryan wasn't as excited about that but he did love to walk up and down the steps to our cabin and look for rocks. Greg is so awesome camping too. He does everything, including the dishes! Crockp...

Adventures With Two Boys. Thursday, November 4, 2010. Your son has Autism. These are the words we heard yesterday as we sat across from Ryan's wonderful psychologist. And even though these were the words we expected and wanted to hear, it was still a very emotional day. Ryan's prognosis is great though. We will continue to do everything we can for him and make sure he gets the best education he deserves. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Slow Cooker Beef Stew.
