Saturday, December 23, 2006. Back in Finland; the final chapter. My trip back home took 31 hours in total including waiting at the airport. I felt really beat up when I got home. For my first finnish food I had "makaronilaatikko", and it tasted really good. Thanks mom! After that I went to sauna. Thursday, December 14, 2006. My Korean job interview. I had my job interview on Monday morning. The interview was held in the headquarters of SK Corp., which was located on a pretty nice business neighbourhood. There were maybe 10-15 other applicants waiting to be interviewed. I don't know how many the company wanted to hire, but I think quite a lot. I was the only westerner applying; other applicants were from China, Indonesia and India. Posted by Jaakko @ 11:50 PM. Monday, November 13, 2006. My strange sunday walk. I have no idea what they wanted but they were really eager about getting it. Labour union rallies in Korea are notorious for turning into militant, crazy,violent expressions. This one tough was quite peacefull. Our professor told that due to the pressure from ordinary citizens of Seoul, labour unions are now thinking twice before starting riots in their pursuit of higher wages. Posted by Jaakko @ 6:28 AM. Friday, November 10, 2006. The green mile; visit to a prison. Yesterday we did an excursion from our Understanding Korean society -course to a Yeong Deung Po "correction facility" aka. prison. It was a facility where prisoners who had done most of their sentence, were able to learn a profession and the skills needed to be a productive member of the society after their release.
