For the last ten years Alan has spent at least two or three weeks a summer journeying to the pristine environs of the High Sierras, often in the company of his son Lorenz. From these trips he has produced a body of paintings drawn from the tradition of the 19th Century American painters Frederick Church and Thomas Moran. He currently spends his time between Bishop, CA in the Eastern Sierras and Palo Alto, CA.
