It is enormous, and while it is filled with macabre reminders of loved ones past, the most disturbing thing I saw: tourists taking pictures of a funeral in progress- unapologetically (not that any sense of shame would have excused such audacity)! There are some very groovy buildings scraping La Défense's sky, and after walking around the ancient streets of Paris for the last few months, the wide, open expanse of the (business) park's esplanade, surrounded by very modern, high tech steel and glass was a welcomed change. I didn't stop to record the name's of each building, or the public art around them. Sorry. Impressive, isn't it.

Here is my attempt at a photo blog. Slowly but surely, I am getting more photos loaded. Enjoy. Sunday, July 31, 2005. Le Jardin du Luxembourg. This one of my favorite places in Paris. The gardens are an extension of the Palais du Luxembourg which is home to the Senate. People- mostly Parisians, can be found wasting all day around the reflecting pools, playing games/sports on the courts, picnicing, ect. under the trees. The Fontaine de Médicis (17th century fountain in the style of an Italian Grotto).
