Fall on the Ground. I was driving back to Minnesota today from Wisconsin when I got some of these shots. It made me think about a friend of mine who lives in Phoenix, AZ. According to her the children that she teaches don't know what seasons are. I can't fathom that. Driving along HWY 94 Detour. So these photos are dedicated to her. and her year round flora-fauna :). I've lived in Dallas, TX which boasts the largest State Fair in the United States. Although perhaps larger. the Texas State fair runs two weeks longer than the Minnesota Fair, which boasts the highest attendence per day in the United States. Single leaf on the car outside my apartment: 50mm ISO600 f/1.8. Having just moved from Texas, my coworkers and friends have been antsy about me encountering the Minnesotian winter. Oddly, I've been really looking forward to it! Snow came early this year, but then disappeared :(. Tree outside: 50mm ISO600 F/1.4 Photoshop and TRA Super Fun Happy. Second Day: More Snow! 50mm ISO700 f/1.4 edited in photoshop to enhance the focus point, used TRA2 Sparta then desaturated the picture. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Walker: 100mm ISO200 F/4. I love dogs. While I was in Dallas, I had a chance to photograph Johanna's puppies. I waited until the second day I was with the dogs to attempt to get them. I wanted to get them in their most relaxed/natural state (being the "new" person in the house usually isn't condusive to relaxed dogs). It was in the morning before anyone else in the house woke up. I took my 55-200mm, White Balance to Daylight and watched the dogs for a good pose. Sarah: 105mm ISO200 F4. Gary Fong Light Sp...

A Gas Station Stop- leaving the security blanket of my DSLR. I have to admit the great lag in posting photos has been largely due to my own laziness. I started to travel so much more. I hate having to prepare for a trip by packing. I stopped packing my camera. And then. stopped taking photos. because I had built up a mental block that somehow not having all of the correct equipment- made my photography less legitimate. But, this past weekend. I may have had a slight break in that block. Although I didn't...

This is Megan and Josh-. I originally met Megan when I was in University when we worked at Victoria's Secret together. Josh, who is from Galveston, had also attended the same University, but didn't meet Megan until after we graduated. This photo session was the first time I had met Josh, so this was my way of getting to know him. We decided to take their engagement photos where the wedding would be held, on Galveston Island. Once we had some fun with it, Megan decided she would rather have a casual photo...

Moments Frozen in Time. It's my belief that an image should capture emotion. When you've captured it, then it's yours. Yours to share or keep to yourself. Yours to reach for. when you most need it. When you most want it. Or when you chance upon it. It's almost like a small escape from the moving world around you. My little sister, Serena taking pictures with her first DSLR. When I look at that photo, I smile. My little sister is the one that got me into photography. My little family, Me, Mooma, Serena.

Golf is one of those games that doesn't matter HOW much I work at it. I will always suck. For example. this is my ball. Lara's Ball. in the REALLY rough side of the rough. However, this outing I got some shots (with the camera at least) that I'm happy with. which unfortunately had NO correlation with my happiness with my game.
