Saturday, June 27, 2009. Stop and smell the roses. I have a new tradition. Every Monday I take a small bouquet from my gardens with me to work. I find I miss the gardens. This is the first summer in 8 years that I've had to leave them everyday for an office! I just have to take a bit of them with me. The arrangement from last week included some of my favorite red roses, lady's mantel, willow branches and euphorbia sprigs. Co-workers have asked. "Is it your birthday? Who are the flowers from? A CUP OF JO.

Saturday, November 7, 2009. Who goes out on Halloween? Two rolls of duct tape and some caution tape and we're off to Creepfest. I was not going to squeeze back into my duct tape dress for an outside spooky garden party. So I put on my favorite Pocket Lady costume loaded with pockets full of toys for spooky girls and boys. This boy's blade was extremely heavy. This boy made me smile. These were bad to the bones. Frida in the forest was fantastic. This fairy in the garden was magical. A CUP OF JO. Sunday, March 29, 2009. An adventure with friends, flowers, and frolicking.destination -Startup, WA. There is nothing like roaming down a country road, in a van full of girl friends who share a passion discovering new plants, launghing at funky garden art, enjoying humor, hard work and healthy dirt. Whether we are working on each other's gardens, or touring inspiring garden paths, a day with the Duvall. Garden Gals is a time I cherish. Next stop, a water garden nursery where we saw sleeping giant gunneras.

Saturday, June 20, 2009. Favorite Flowers of June. Today was a day in the gardens. Our giant Paul's Himalayan Mist. Rose is in full bloom over the garden fence. The fragrance of this rose is truely intoxicating. The wash of light pink blossoms with large clematis flower laden vines makes a stunning backdrop to our garden room. One of the last drooping peonies. Rose always brings a smile to my face, as her colors start vibrant then fade to a muted pink and white. I love to watch as this Impressionist Rose.

Sunday, June 21, 2009. I recently did some fun floral arrangements for a girlfriend's fabulous Tiki. Party They built a lovely retro outbuilding with kitchen and bar decorated with retro Hawaiian kitsch. I enjoyed the challenge of taking flowers out of my Pacific Northwest garden to create some tropical floral arrangements. Arrangement above has large purple clematis blooms representing earth, euryngium. Grass and lady's mantel leaves. Peonies, giant hosta. Me and three of my hula girlfriends. A CUP OF JO.
