Seriously, So Fascinating: October 2010

Seriously, So Fascinating. Friday, October 29, 2010. The Rule of Halves. Something I read in The Complete Tightwad Gazette. Yes, I read the whole thing):. Take however much you normally use of something (laundry detergent, face cream, shampoo) and try using half that much. Do you still get the desired result? Then try using half that much again. Continue until you do not get the desired result, then add a little more. That's how much you really need. Sunday, October 24, 2010. Pop Quiz III Winner! Hopeful...

Seriously, So Fascinating: July 2011

http://seriouslysofascinating.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Seriously, So Fascinating. Friday, July 8, 2011. If only I weren't in charge of the church nursery. And had no children. And no end of money. Then I'd spend every single weekend paddling the San Juans and eating, eating, eating, with these fine people. Alas, I fear heaven will have to wait until the actual afterlife. Seriously, So Fascinating. Monday, September 27, 2010. Mormonism Mondays: Birth Control. So a friend of the family made a comment this weekend about a Mormon housewife. Something about her being expected to have a bunch of kids. I don't think she realized how many current and former Mormon housewives were in the room. Sadly, we didn't have time to talk that through. So here we are. Monday, September 20, 2010. Mormonism Monday: The Lingo. Last week, Lindsay. Read: The leadership over the 12-17-year-old ki...

Seriously, So Fascinating: February 2011

http://seriouslysofascinating.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Seriously, So Fascinating. Friday, February 25, 2011. I eat it almost every day. Helps keep up my milk supply, is cheap (especially in 25 pound bags from the church), and tastes so, so, so good when done right. Here's my routine:. One part regular oatmeal (not quick, not instant, just oatmeal). One and a half parts milk. Here's what you don't want to do: buy oatmeal at McDonald's. Just don't. If that isn't intuitive for you, check out Mark Bittman's recent piece. Little rays of hope. Little rays of hope.

The Mathews Family: July 2015

http://themathewsfamilyfun.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 18, 2015. Only in California can you have a mud fight on Christmas Eve. My parents have started working on their yard so there was lots of dirt to turn into mud. Everyone loved it and had so much fun getting dirty. Things got a little crazy but man was it fun to watch. (No I did not participate.). We put some warm water in the bucket so naturally E wanted in. More warm water. It didn't get them very clean but they were happy. Nothing like a little mud to help celebrate Christmas. She loves...

The Mathews Family: Thanksgiving Day

http://themathewsfamilyfun.blogspot.com/2015/05/thanksgiving-day.html

Friday, May 29, 2015. It was a beautiful California day for Thanksgiving and so we headed to my brothers house of some dinner prep and swimming. The pool was pretty cold but that didn't stop the crazy kids. I think they all got in at least for a second. The jacuzzi was heated and the happier place to be. A great start to Thanksgiving day. Sadly, once again I didn't take any more pictures. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A B C D and E. Rain, Rain Stay All Day. A Wonderful Friend Moves Away.

Friday, February 20, 2015. Poor grandpa getting tackled by his grandkids. (ok so this isn't Disneyland but I had to throw it in there.). My brothers families, along with my parents and us went to Disneyland to do their Halloween party. We had a great time. I love this picture with cousins. Disney really does have great parades. Here's Ana. And don't forget Elsa. They have great firework shows too. Some people get a little crazy if they stay to long! The picture is of the hallway. One of the common rooms.

http://themathewsfamilyfun.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 9, 2014. As soon as our hike was over we got in the car and headed to the big city, San Francisco! First thing we did was drive over the Golden Gate Bridge. When we got to the other side we decided to park and walk back over it. It was a nice view into the city. Our next stop was Lombard street. I didn't think my car was going to make it down that steep and curvy road. I think my brakes were starting to smell! Such a crazy road! Our room had the perfect view! Sunday, June 8, 2014. This kid already thinks he's big enough to catch some waves. These girls were the brave ones who put star fish on their faces. They found so many! I've never seen them like this before. The Mathews Family: December 2013

http://themathewsfamilyfun.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 26, 2013. Big B's parents are serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Thatcher, Arizona. They are working in the institute with all the college students. So we broke tradition to visit them and see what they do in Thatcher. There is a temple there and you could even see it from their front door! There is a mountain close by and we went up it for a picnic and there was snow. We had a snowball fight and did some small hikes. They all made it! There were s...

Seriously, So...

I seriously love cooking up something tasty in the kitchen, stocking my food storage pantry, and making cutesy paper gems. So, I've created this little nook to catalog my favorite recipes, my favorite food sites and bites, and my favorite crafty creations. Happy cooking and crafting, y'all! Monday, September 19. I know you've noticed, but I thought I'd make an official announcement to my 5 followers. I'm no longer updating this blog, but feel free to check out my cooking blog: Seriously So Delicious.

Seriously So Delicious

October 08, 2012. I've been loving the recipes I find on Pinterest and decided to share a few with you that I made this weekend. They were THAT good. Coconut Chicken Salad with Homemade Honey Mustard Dressing. To Die. For. I didn't have dijon mustard because I don't love it, so I added regular mustard and plain Greek yogurt instead. It was heavenly! Also, I used two medium-size chicken breasts and cut them into long strips before dredging them in the egg mixture. I love a good bang for my buck! I have se...

Seriously Sofas. Stories of a serious start-up.

Seriously Sofas. Stories of a serious start-up. Thursday, 2 June 2011. Starting up a UK Limited Company. Seriously Sofas. We came up with the name after a fun filled evening bouncing ideas around. These included 'Couch Potato' and 'Sit Down [Please]' but Mr J pointed out we needed Sofa in the title - as that's what we do! Whilst waiting we registered the domain name, and variations on the theme, set up email addresses and started creating an increasingly long list of things to do. View my complete profile.

Sunday, July 6, 2014. An idea for major ailments. Daily I come across a number of patients who are financially not well-off to get treated for various diseases. Though governments across the states do have schemes to provide free treatment including surgeries to these people, I found one practical problem where repeated treatments/drugs are needed. Patients do get help but it is often fragmented in nature. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Fine lets try was my answer. What lacks is the diversity. There are ...
