Were Talking Exit Zero! The Southen Light of New Jersey. Credit to Mark Blanchard. Few visitors to Cape May pass up the chance to climb the famous spiral “hundred and ninety-nine” steps to the top of Cape May Point’s Lighthouse. The park, which has been around as long as the lighthouse, has a lot of interesting paths which are good for birdwatchers, hikers, hunters, or just a fun day outside. The lighthouse ground’s also has a gift shop and museum. Which offers a great historic background to the area.

The beach, named for its stunning sunsets, is one of the oldest public beaches in New Jersey. Back in the 1800’s, Sunset Beach was used as a steamboat landing. Steamboats would start their journey in Philadelphia, and would travel south down to Cape May by means of the Delaware River and Bay.
