Gratefully, Whit: December 2008
http://whithazelton.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Garbage In, Garbage Out. Some of the kids practicing their skateboarding tricks in town. Before Alternative Missions built the skate park, you would never have seen this. On Friday I led a Bible Study for the youth entitled “Basura Adentro, Basura Afuera,” or, “Garbage In, Garbage Out”. We looked at what the Bible says we should be putting into our minds and how that relates specifically to our choices in music. Our key verse for the week was:. We know something is bad for us,...

Gratefully, Whit: April 2009
http://whithazelton.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 18, 2009. Working on the ramps. My friend Jordan recently returned from Ecuador, where he surfed for Costa Rica in the World Junior surfing championships. He is a lot of fun to watch. Downer is one of the more powerful surfers in Puerto Viejo. He loves to "get air". Carlos asked if he could borrow my "biscuit," a fun little board I shaped last year. Carlos trying out the biscuit. How many people does it take to fix a broken ramp? Sunday, April 5, 2009. Painting Amy and Barrett's bedroom.

Gratefully, Whit: January 2009

Saturday, January 31, 2009. An expanding ministry team? On Wednesday night I proposed to Kristin. There might have been some drugs in her food, because she said yes! Yes, it is true, Kristin and I are engaged to be married, and hope to become a family in May! We believe God has brought us together to serve Him together in ministry, raise Hudson together, and be partners through all the ups and downs of this life. It's very exciting! Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Every Tuesday evening, Amy hosts Girls' Ska...

Gratefully, Whit: Calvary Chapel Jupiter
http://whithazelton.blogspot.com/2009/04/calvary-chapel-jupiter.html
Sunday, April 5, 2009. Painting Amy and Barrett's bedroom. A team of 9 from Calvary Chapel Jupiter just returned from spending a week with us. Together, we helped the Cruces move into their new house. It was a week of much construction and painting, and very satisfying to see Barrett, Amy, Maili, and Makena, be able to enjoy a night of sleep under ceiling fans after spending 9 months in “substandard” housing. Chris took some nice photos, which I'll share with you here. Thanks, Chris! Do you feel small?

Gratefully, Whit: Where moth and rust destroy, and thieves break in and steal

Saturday, March 21, 2009. Where moth and rust destroy, and thieves break in and steal. It's never a good feeling to see police officers in your yard when you come home. Thankfully, I live by myself, so I didn't have to worry that something tragic had happened to one of my family members. Jesus said: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." - John 10:10 ( NIV. March 22, 2009 at 11:43 AM. Gratefully, Whit: February 2009
http://whithazelton.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 9, 2009. The Rain in Costa Falls Mainly on the Coast-a. Well, we just got out of a heavy 5-day rain storm which caused a fair amount of flooding. Although my yard stood in a few inches of water for several days, thankfully the house itself stayed dry. The Cruces didn't fare as well in their "tree house." A lot of rain blew in under the roof and got things pretty wet (it's an open-air house). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Rain in Costa Falls Mainly on the Coast-a. Click to view album.

Gratefully, Whit: it's goodbye...
http://whithazelton.blogspot.com/2009/05/its-goodbye.html
Saturday, May 9, 2009. A tough part of Puerto Viejo. It's incredible how many people sleep in each of these shacks. Janin, one of the girls I've been teaching to skate, gets her first surf lesson. The tropical plumeria is one of my favorite plants. This photo from Puerto Viejo's graveyard shows that Rastafarianism is everything to some. Sometimes, following Jesus means having to choose between two very good things. Important things. May 9, 2009 at 12:50 PM. Whit, we know it was a difficult decision, but ...

Gratefully, Whit: October 2008
http://whithazelton.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 25, 2008. I am happy to say that I've moved in to my new apartment and have started fixing it up a little. The youth ministry, skate ministry, and house church have all been going well. Here's a story I wanted to share from a few days ago. Pablo suggested that perhaps his church band could come down and play a concert at the skate park. I loved the idea and got his contact info in case we could set something up in the future. God is so amazing! I would appreciate it! It's a very basic s...
