Serving the Citizens

Friday, May 15, 2009. Should Texas state offer a tuition cap for higher education? I am in total agreeance with my classmate. Texas Legislators have introduced bills that would put a cap on tuition increase. We already pay enough, for just one class alone. Why do we need to pay more? Not everybody comes from a privelaged family and can afford anything higher than what we are paying now. This is a great bill and I am in favor of this being passed. Monday, May 4, 2009. Serving the Citizens: Dare to be Drug Free!!

http://servingthecitizens.blogspot.com/2009/05/dare-to-be-drug-free.html

Monday, May 4, 2009. Dare to be Drug Free! Ever since elementary school, we have been taught not to use drugs. If my memory serves me correctly, in the 5th grade we even had a drug free program that all the classes took. It was called DARE which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. DARE is a police-officer led series of classroom lessons that teaches children, elementary through high school, how to resist peer pressure and live drug free lives! May 5, 2009 at 12:49 PM. I have a problem with testin...

Serving the Citizens: Tax Exemptions?!

http://servingthecitizens.blogspot.com/2009/04/tax-exemptions.html

Wednesday, April 8, 2009. I am pretty sure that we can all agree, that being a college student does not come cheap! We have to pay for the classes we take and the gas to get to class each and every day. Last but not least, we have to pay for the books we need that provide us wth the information we need for each of our classes. Do we seriously need more to pay for than what we can bear? April 20, 2009 at 10:20 PM. Instead of clicking on each and every blog, I decided to make my selection a random one....

Serving the Citizens: March 2009

http://servingthecitizens.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 30, 2009. Where this author stands on this, I do not know for sure. But, as for me I am going to have to agree with what the deomcrats are trying to do. Democrats are threatening to use the reconciliation budgetary system and the Republicans are in a frenzy! They have every right to panic. If the Democrats are succesful, then the Republicans would be denied the right to filibuster. Which is just about the only thing that they have left to influence federal policy. Serving the Citizens: A Post on a Post

http://servingthecitizens.blogspot.com/2009/04/post-on-post.html

Monday, April 20, 2009. A Post on a Post. Texas Legislatures Need to Seek Cleaner Air. Let me start off by saying that this was a good editorial. I completely agree with this classmate of mine. She wrote this editorial on a bill that is currently still in the House. A Republican Senator from Waco proposed a bill that would call for tighter regulations and modifications of air impacting technologies. If the bill is passed, it will result in cleaner air for Texas. Feel free to go check it out! Texas: The G...

Texas in Perspective: March 2009

http://austinitegovtview.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 30, 2009. I am the U.S. and I'm addicted to drugs. On Friday March 27, 2009 , in the editorials of the Austin American Statesman there was an article titled, I am the U.S. and I'm addicted to drugs. The article talks about a the drug war that is taking place in Mexico and filtrating into the United Sates and how most the fault leans on the demand the United States has placed on drugs. The author seems to be in favor of more U.S cooperation, and bring excellent points on how Mexicans are...

Texas in Perspective: February 2009

Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Bill would allow tribal gambling. Bill would allow tribal gambling. This is an article found in the Austin American Statesman covering a new bill that would provide a defense to prosecution for tribes that operate limited casino gambling in Texas. This is an issue that has been going on for years. In fact, a. The tribes argue that because Texas created a state-run lottery it opened the door for Indian casino gambling on federally recognized tribal lands. I figured this article...

The Classroom: Another Bailout?!!??

http://stevensclassroom.blogspot.com/2008/12/another-bailout.html

Wednesday, December 3, 2008. These companies didn't just magically fail, they have been failing for a while. I think in order for them to receive a bailout they need to be totally restructured. Somewhere along the lines like Toyota who is the number one auto seller and is doing very successful despite a weak economy. December 4, 2008 at 12:04 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Lone Star Government. Monday, May 4, 2009. Texas Laws and Teens. The Texas legislature is currently trying to pass laws that would keep teens from driving after 10 pm, buying cigarettes, texting while driving, and jumping into tanning beds. The legislature argues that these laws target young people because they are still developing judgements and are prone to danger. . May 13, 2009 at 1:22 PM. May 15, 2009 at 3:49 PM. In Mr Riojas' blog, The Lone Star Government, he states how the Texas legislature a...

I realized this was even more challenging, Horak said. The broad jokes a...
