Elyse in the world. So, I'm up waaay past my bed time tonight. It happens. The reason though, is that I'm baking cookies for the seniors at school! Tonight was also really fun because our house was invited over to the Mozley's for dinner! But Elyse," you wonder, "what's going on with the title of your blog? Every time a plane flew overhead I was desperate to be on it. I was desperate to learn this crazy culture and feel like I understood it well enough to get around on my own. I was desperate to get home.

I'll start with the scary one and end with the funny one. That's when I realized my thumb hurt pretty badly and was probably burned. Back in the kitchen I can't remember what happened but I started to feel bad that I had poured out all of Amanda's oil :-( Sorry Amanda! I could be in a Ghanaian hospital right now. BAH! That's ap...

A Window Into My Little Red School House: A Precious 36
http://red-schoolhouse.blogspot.com/2009/12/precious-36.html
A Window Into My Little Red School House. Home school teacher of 7 missionary kids in Mexico. Monday, December 7, 2009. One struggle for me being here in Mexico is the long nights. Right now, come 5 o'clock, it is pitch dark. What in the world do you do? Any ways, a few nights ago, I made a big mug of tea, lit a candle, popped in Pride and Prejudice into my borrowed laptop and curled up with my fleece blanket on my "day bed." I was in heaven! So I have this awesome startbucks hard plastic cup that comes with a straw. I washed it last night and left it out to dry on the motorhome kitchen sink. This morning I went to put everything away and the straw was no where to be found. Seriously? What in the world would mice want with a straw? I am so bummed! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

elyse in the world: Reverential Awe
http://elyseintheworld.blogspot.com/2011/03/reverential-awe.html
Elyse in the world. 1 a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined. The ground isn't going anywhere." Well, I've heard that at least once or twice. But what if - what if - one time when you go to take that next step the ground really isn't there? Of course I'm exaggerating a bit but how can anyone shrug off. The movement of the ground? I'm not sure I'll ever get used to that - no matter how small. And you will go for us? Number - scares me...
