It feels as if we only recently arrived in Turkey, but actually we’ve been here almost five months. When we visit ancient cities, which are as common here as shopping centers in Los Angeles, time does seems to run more slowly. The ancient stones have a life of their own, and they tell of lives past, earthquakes and invasions, and many long centuries.
