June 8, 2016 – 11:33 am. Sometimes, the timing of a thing just works. When I talked with Curtis Herbert a few weeks ago about wanting to expand my horizons with the client work I’ve been doing up until now, he immediately piped in that he was thinking along the same lines. We both wanted to do more than just design and build things for people. We wanted to share our business experience in mobile apps and services with others. The goal of Breakpoint Studio. August 18, 2016 – 12:24 pm. I’ve been recording music on my Mac for the better part of 20 years. Once I learned that I could combine my love of music with computers, it became my favorite way to spend my free time. Sometimes I would record individual songs. Entire collections of songs. Half-baked songs that never went anywhere. It didn’t matter. It was always a fun outlet for my creativity. Needed background music several times a year, certainly our Teleprompt. We’re starting with a very small catalog, a...

Maybe McDonald’s Isn’t Lying. July 24, 2015 – 3:08 pm. Last week I was making screenshots [1]. For the next version of Setlists. This is a necessary ritual for any major new app update, as any developer could tell you. These are mini ads for the app, after all. For many customers, this is the only deciding factor for whether or not the app gets downloaded. We’d better make it count. The original screenshot I took. The final promo picture. Is this a lie? This got me thinking, of course, about McDonald’s.

April 16, 2016 – 11:33 am. I’m sure we’ll be hearing tons of jokes about consistency from the spelling and grammar police, but I get why it would be MacOS, as opposed to macOS. Mac is a proper noun. The Mac has always been capitalized. It’s a shortened form of a non-generic product: the Macintosh. The i in Apple’s names over the years has always been lowercase, since the original iMac. So, of course it’s iOS. [1]. More on McDonald’s Promo Shots. July 28, 2015 – 4:31 pm. As a follow up to my post yesterday.

114: Handing Out Flyers in Dirty Nightclubs. Podcast: Play in new window. Apple doesn’t make it easy to do free trials of App Store apps, and in at least some cases forbids them by policy. Today we look at free trials, how Joe’s team has implemented them in their new app, what others have done, and how we can stay on the good side of the App Store review guidelines. We’re planning a conference! Tickets are now on sale, and can be purchased from our website at http:/ releasenotes.tv/conference. Click to p...
