I read through my recipe books but didn't find anything too inspiring, so decided to make Fried Rice with Crispy Fried Tofu. This recipe is completely flexible - just substitute whatever vegetables you have on hand. Fried Rice with Crispy Fried Tofu. 400g firm tofu, cubed. 1 TBS sesame oil. 2 small carrots, julienned.

Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Once again I slavishly forced the Pea (our little green(ish)car) to do the one thing she really doesn't like doing.that being, to drive us anywhere! This time, Munchkin 1 (9 turning 19 lately) and Munchkin 2 (6 and very good at it), were forced to join me. Well. it was either that or have them ping-ponging around our little cottage, on a post-easter-chocolate-overdose thing! So we made our way out to Wisemans Ferry. Almost threw Munchkin 2 in here! Established in 1836, the Settlers Arm Inn is built from convict - hewn sandstone. Surrounded by mountains, it nestles alongside the Macdonald River within the tiny village of St. Albans, the heart of the Macdonald Valley, New South Wales. Of Georgian simplicity, the hotel became a stopover for Cobb and Co. stagecoaches traveling between Sydney and Newcastle in the nineteenth century.
