Seven Hills

Monday, October 4, 2010. I finally understand why brewers spend more time worrying about their equipment than the percentage of specialty grains in the grain bill. A great beer can be brewed with a few simple grains and the right yeast, but miss important details and you risk losing an entire batch of beer. Friday, September 3, 2010. Currently fermenting: a double batch of the Fulton red; a carboy of the wee heavy; an experimental sour taken from a first run of the red. Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Tuesday,...

Seven Hills: April 2010

http://sevenhillsbrewing.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 17, 2010. The APA/JPA turned out well. I haven't gotten to pour it for many others yet, however. I bottled the helles bock earlier in the week. It's a tiny bit darker than I anticipated, though still within style guidelines. I snuck a taste of it at the time, though I'm looking forward to it coming up to carbonation, and to being able to break out a bottle. Saturday, April 3, 2010. Mdash; that my first thought was "wow, that sure is a lot of malt.". Labels: brewing on the brain. The inter...

Seven Hills: September 2010

http://sevenhillsbrewing.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 3, 2010. Currently bottle conditioning: 5 cases of the dirty cicada blonde, plus some cloudy bottles for testing the conditioning; a few bottles of a shilling taken from second runnings of the wee heavy. Currently fermenting: a double batch of the Fulton red; a carboy of the wee heavy; an experimental sour taken from a first run of the red. Just brewed: a classic bitter, which smelled amazing coming out of the kettle. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Saturday, November 21, 2009. Thursday, November 19, 2009. A Belated Welcome and a Fresh Invitation. This was initially just going to be a quick note to say thanks to those who came out for our latest event — particularly some family and dear friends, our respective ladies fair, the wonderful people at EcoLogic. We went through about two cases that night, all told. — Ed.). And I hope to hear more from you. Anyone who's expressed interest but isn't already counted among the people who have said "yes" o...

Seven Hills: Bitter-sweet

http://sevenhillsbrewing.blogspot.com/2010/07/bitter-sweet.html

Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Tonight, we'll be running the bitter. It's a new addition to the roster of possible core beers, and it's a fitting beer to run this week. In other news, we are a couple parts away from finally solving the pumping and chilling issues we've been experiencing, and the first batch off the Brew-Magic goes in bottles tonight. Seven Hills: March 2010

http://sevenhillsbrewing.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 28, 2010. And on the Seventh Day. I am resting, after having taken care of an almost startling amount of brewing, racking, bottling, and cleaning. Here is a run-down of the all the latest:. To be enjoyed, after all, and what better time than a party, or a tasting with friends and potential members of the co-op, to break them out and savour them? Paul has also suggested the name J-PAPA, for "John's Punk Ass Pale Ale." Not bad. Would you like to see something interesting? Here it is now:.
