This past weekend I took my first trip out of Spain to the city of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. I went with my friend Laura who is an au pair from France and though it was a short trip packed into a tiny amount of time, we got to do a lot during our two days there! It ended up being a pretty accommodating bus with these reclining leather seats that made it easier to get in a few hours of sleep. This past week was one of the most exciting times to be in Sevilla as the entire city celebrated Semana Santa or Holy Week. What happens here is one of the most important religious ceremonies in the country and people come from all over the world to see it. On Saturday morning we met the group in the center and boarded our buses for Gibraltar. After about three and a half hours of our buses dropped us off in "La Linea", the border town next to Gibraltar. Because Gibraltar is technically a part of Great Britain we had to go through customs and show our passports! Well I can officially say that I've been to visit most of the major cities in Spain, save some of the cities along the northern coast. Either way, I've really enjoyed traveling around this wonderful country! After this trip I don't have too many other travels planned for my remaining two months here but there will still be a lot of excitement with the infamous Semana Santa and upcoming Feria de Sevilla. On my walk I discovered the bull ring. And this very neat looking bridge, El Puente de la Exposición.
