Sewing & Reaping: November 2011
http://sewingreaping.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
The adventures of an American seamstress in Europe. Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Sowe all know that we're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, right? Other things, however, should most definitely be judged at face value. Among these are ironing boards. Quite a serious matter Do you really want to smooth out the wrinkles on your great-grandma's swiss batiste christening gown on a less-than-pristine surface? I didn't think so. Fortunately, thanks to a fabulous tutorial I found over on the Purl Bee.

how to: shoelaces | Blog | Lisette
http://www.sewlisette.com/blog/2011/12/how-to-shoelaces
I recently found myself in need of some shoelaces and decided it would take less time to make them than to find an interesting, colorful pair. Turns out that they’re fun and easy to make, and they require very little fabric. And they would make a great little stocking stuffer! I used a yellow polka dotted sateen from the Little Lisette collection. You’ll need less than 1/4 yard for each pair of shoelaces. Once the strip is folded and pressed using either of the two methods above, edgestitch both sides to...

Sewing Rags to Stitches
Sewing Rags to Stitches. Sewing Rags to Stitches. Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Guest Post. Best Diaper Bag Ever! Grandma also made "Katie" a new diaper bag! She picked the fabric all by herself and I (I mean "Katie") LOVED it! It has pockets inside for diapers/wipes, cell phone, and two other small pockets. There is an outside pocket for a bottle or Mom's waterbottle. Love it. If that wasn't enough, there is a matching CHANGING PAD! It will double as a bag/purse even after we exit the "baby" stage!
Sims-Almont North Dakota
On The Old Red Trail'. Sims originated in 1880 at a Northern Pacific Railroad siding, was used for water and coal and called Bly's Mine. The town was surveyed in 1883 by the NPRR and renamed Sims. The only buildings that remain standing are the Sims Scandinavian Lutheran Church and the parsonage. The Sims congregation has been active since it was organized in 1882. The parsonage was restored by the membership in the 1990's with with a grant from Preservation. Kevin Pitmam: kevinpitman@mac.com.
Sew Much Fun
Monday, April 13, 2015. The idea for this bag came from this site. I thought it was perfect for my media specialist daughter. Posted by JoAnne Rupp. Wednesday, February 11, 2015. These pillows will soon be on their way to an auction which will benefit a children's home. They are made of old feed sacks (which I am in love with). The first one is appliqued and pieced with a vintage-looking blue solid background. On the back there is a red accent band with three covered buttons to hold it closed. With heart...
