Monday, July 20, 2015. First pair of Gainline Maritime shorts! I seem to have a backlog of summer blogging! I keep sewing things, then getting excited and wearing them right away and totally forgetting to take photos. One such piece is the Grainline Maritime Shorts. I conned a friend into taking some photos this weekend at a girls cottage weekend (she understands my plight, I took her photo for the international anna party, its the popsicle dress on my instagram. I cut off the scallop and put on a cuff!

Friday, June 12, 2015. Gabriola Skirt and Nettie Body Suit. I found out about the Monthly Stitch last month, just in time to prepare for one of their contests! I'd been thinking about sewing up this outfit for a while but this was the perfect kick in the butt to get started. I used the Nettie body suit pattern from Closet Case Files. And the Gabriola Skirt from Sewaholic. I couldn't pass it up, luckily now its warm enough to actually wear. I used a hook for a closure instead of the button suggested.

Saturday, March 28, 2015. Pencil Skirt Sewing Party. Last weekend a few friends and I got together to sew pencil skirts! Three seamed pencil skirt, I knew it was the perfect pattern. With Lekala patterns, you input your measurements and a pattern is custom drafted for you and a pdf pattern is emailed to you 10 minutes later. The sewing party was very successful, one friend was having machine troubles so fell behind, but the rest of us all had some fit issues to work out so we finished at the same time!

I had originally planned to wear one me made piece a day and hoped to get a lot of wear out of my fun cotton dresses, but it looks like I'll be in the lab doing messy stuff and I don't want to ruin any of my clothes! All the whimsical things. Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Another sewaway make (kwik sew 3801). Pattern: kwik sew 3801. Fabric: wool blend knit from Gorman. Price: $4pm (the same fabric in blue is $8pm). Shaped the arm holes and side seams. Took off 3cm off the side seam. Narrowed the sleeves by 3.5cm - I hate loose sleeves. Didn't hem the sleeves or bottom hem. Add the sleeves from view A. Would I make this again? It's a great pattern that would look great in lots of sweater fabrics. Notes for next time:.
