Sewing with Strings: Twirly Circle Skirts
http://sewingwithstrings.blogspot.com/2011/02/twirly-circle-skirts.html
My adventures in exploring and experimenting with sewing! Sunday, February 6, 2011. Not only did I make matching skirts for my girls, but I tackled the elusive Circle Skirt! I scoured the internet for directions, but they all left me befuddled until I came across this fab-ulous tutorial on what is now one of my favorite blogs: MADE. Circle Skirt Tutorial. I had some leftover material, so I used that to make the skirt for my 22lb toddler. Personally, I would have liked it to be a little longer. Bu...Hazel...
Sewing with Strings: Hello World!
http://sewingwithstrings.blogspot.com/2011/01/hello-world.html
My adventures in exploring and experimenting with sewing! Monday, January 3, 2011. I'm sure I'm not alone when I think of the long list of items I've seen in the stores and said to myself, "I'm not paying for this.I could TOTALLY make this myself! One day, I'll look deep down and admit that time is a factor that can't be ignored, and truly, I do not have time to complete all most of these items.). My goal for this blog is to share my experiences with sewing. The good, bad, and the "wow, that's ugly!

My adventures in exploring and experimenting with sewing! Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Make A Bass Bow Quiver. If you've read my profile, you know that I'm a strings teacher. I have 9 bass players this year. (Woo-hoo! However, the thought of ordering 9 bass bow quivers for the school basses at $40 a pop made me cringe. So.I decided to order one quiver and figure out how to make my own. Ah You've noticed the pepto-pinkness of the material. One can't be too picky when the fabric is free! What you will need:.

All things crafting with a little bit of cooking, baking, reading, parenting, etc. thrown in. Monday, April 6, 2015. A Quick Card Holder Tutorial. One surprise best seller at my winter shows was the Business Card Holder. I only had about 10 of them in my inventory to begin with and by the end of the first day they were gone! I'm only now starting to restock them and thought you all might want a quick, very simple walk through of how I make them. Let me know if you have any questions. Cross Stitch Catch Up.

Saturday, September 20, 2014. Guess What. I Have a New Blog Post Up. I am not sure if I have ever mentioned it before (I think I did not), that I have a small Etsy shop. It has never been really full, especially because of a lack of time (and the situation getting even worse when my son was born). But with the determination to not let go and do what I like to do, I started to (or came back) to "making stuff", either for myself or my shop and created an Instagram account. My FB page (Lilly and Belle).

Teaching the world to sew…one stitch at a time! Sewing Skills 101 – applique to zig zag. The value of handmade. Earlier this month, my niece and nephew celebrated their second birthday. I wanted to make them each something special to commemorate this occasion. I had recently seen this tutorial. I had so much fun making these dolls. The tutorial was well thought out and easy to follow. I love witnessing a doll come to life as I sew. There is always an element (or more! Instead of using paper and ribbon to...

Monday, May 6, 2013. I Love the Brits! If I haven't returned your call, or done the dishes, or taken care of routine personal hygiene, it's because I've been in front of my computer watching this show . . . At first I was leery of "The Great British Sewing Bee" (TGBSB) because it's a 'reality show', but not to worry. While it IS a 'reality' show, it's polite, fun and informative- no fake drama. If you like to sew, these are your people! Thursday, May 2, 2013. Laundry can be dangerous! My son heard a susp...
