Sew Me: Other Projects

http://sewmeblog.blogspot.com/p/other-projects.html

My Quilts 1 - 30. My Quilts 31 -. Crocheted this little basket using a wee pattern from Chickpea Studios. Practical and pretty in its simplicity. (Jan 2011). My Pride and Joy. The first ever real quilt made by me! Actually, it's a quillow painstakingly pieced together under the safe and inspirational guidance and encouragement of my friend and tutor Judith ( Rags to Bags. Anyway, I just kept the pattern simple but I think the resulting cushion was worth it, and more importantly, so does he! Amazing what ...

My Quilts 1 - 30. My Quilts 31 -. Saturday, 23 May 2015. Bee Blessed at Work. It was all go at Bee Blessed this afternoon. Look at everybody bee-vering away. They really are a dedicated crew - the sun was shining which we haven't seen much of lately and still these lovely Bees turned up to keep the quilts moving! There are a few other bodies basting on the floor space that you can't see here.). It's such a cheery one. Tuesday, 19 May 2015. Moda Modern Building Blocks - Blocks 6 and 7. Blocks 6 and 7 are ...

Sew Me: March 2015

http://sewmeblog.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

My Quilts 1 - 30. My Quilts 31 -. Friday, 27 March 2015. Last weekend, working my way down the list of makes before losing my sewing room, I thought I'd make myself a couple of zippy pouches to help me when I need to re-store sewing items that usually sit on my sewing table top. The large grey zippy is big enough to re-home my scissors and rotary cutters when the time comes to pack them safely into a box. I tried a wee bit of wavy piecing on that pouch just because. Tuesday, 24 March 2015. I didn't reall...

My Quilts 1 - 30. My Quilts 31 -. Friday, 26 June 2015. The story so far . Because they both asked so nicely, and because they are fabulous encouragers, inspiration and solution providers for all sorts of stitching issues, here is a picture of all of my 18 Moda Modern Building Blocks so far as requested for Mrs Sew and Sew. It is only with laying them out for this picture that I'm beginning to get an idea of the overall size of this quilt. It's a bit of a biggie! Labels: Moda Modern Building Blocks Quilt.

Sew Me: Quilt Now BOM - Issue 11

http://sewmeblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/quilt-now-bom-issue-11.html

My Quilts 1 - 30. My Quilts 31 -. Saturday, 16 May 2015. Quilt Now BOM - Issue 11. Getting ever closer to the finish of this BOM methinks, and it's very exciting. I've even seen that Reene has sent her finished top off to be quilted, but spoilsports that she and Quilt Now are the pic snippet was enough to tell it was the quilt, but not enough to actually see anything properly - sigh (patience not being much of a virtue here lately). Looking pretty and summery in those fabrics I think. 16 May 2015 at 18:54.

One to three inches of snow is forecast for today. I’m going to fill the safflower feeder for the cardinals now so that chore is taken care of before the storm moves in. I had a first taker for the suet I made. Nuthatches, woodpeckers and chickadees can feed from below, so I’m looking forward to other visitors stopping by. Feeding birds in the winter.

July 4, 2015. July 4, 2015. Well, it has been a few months, and I am happy to report that the squirrels have not obliterated my garden. The bird nets have done a great job keeping pests out of my veggies! The tomatoes that I have planted from seedlings are alive and well. We have been munching on cherry tomatoes for a few weeks now, and had a few full-size Early Girl tomatoes as well. I guess this means that my New Year’s resolution is now fulfilled. Hooray! The tomatoes that I have grown from seed are a...
