Sexy is not what I typically strive for in my everyday appearance, however I like most other women have my sexy days and then. my NOT so sexy days. That being said, what is more sexy than gals that can make their own garments? I say not much, but I might be biased. And yet I am not alone, the Sew Sexy Sew-Along. Was cooked up just to further prove this fact. I executed my standard modifications, broad back and square shoulder.

For the record, I am not willing to share with you how long this dress has resided in my sewing room as an unfinished project. But lets just state that the pattern Simplicity 1882. Once I had more than a few things to share, I felt overwhelmed and was not going to blog about any of them. But even if no one reads this, I like looking back over the years and seeing what I have created. It turned out just like I wanted! And who knew. I love the red. Next up was a morph of New Look 6104 and Simplicity 2255.

It is a bit boxy but still, it is cute. I decided to 'Morris' my TNT jacket pattern. The red is my self drafted TNT jacket pattern, modeled off of a Target jacket from 2013. I decided, since I love the way this one fits, why not just alter it to have the styling of the Morris? I love my new jacket! And if you can's sew.

So this was my test Archer, at the very least, I would have a camping shirt! I bought this fabric on sale at JoAnns. $4.99 a yard. I bought 3 yards. It was 44" wide. The Moss Mini and Scout T have been made multiple times now. Maritime shorts and the Archer shirt were still left to do. I had this gorgeous railroad stripe stretch denim from Fabric.com Perfect for shorts! I washed and dried it (in the dryer) 3 times, to eliminate shrinkage after construction. The stripes photographed crazy! And if you can't sew.

I made it in 2009. I still wear it, but the fabric has seen it's better days, so now it is just a weekend T. I decided to replace it. Vogue 8451, but I used the Sewaholic Renfrew sleeve, as the Vogue sleeve has a ridiculous amount of ease, so I went with something I knew fit the way I liked. And if you can't sew.

Sewing clothes that I wear everyday, is my favorite kind of sewing. It makes me feel successful in my sewing. This year I have been adding more color to my pants collection. After a winter of wearing what felt like jeans everyday, I wanted to embrace spring and dress with some color. I have tweaked the V8774 to be my TNT. So I made one for me. And if you can't sew.

The fact that the flowers appear to match across the fronts is amazing, I could only fit them on the fabric in one way, each front edge was originally the selvage edge! I could not match the flower layout on the sleeves, but I like the randomness of it. The back, cut on the fold, has 2 darts for shaping. Gorgeous&#...

Thursday, June 9, 2011. Inspiration Workshop {week 2} with Gussy Sews. This weeks prompt at gussy sews. We are just beginning the process of redoing our kitchen (the pricing out the options step). We are thinking of moving in the next year or so, so we are looking for the most cost efficient. Re-do so, no ideal kitchen for me in this house. A girl can dream though, right? When i do imagine my perfect kitchen the first word that pops into my head is. Anyway, here is a gorgeous kitchen that has me swooning!

Since shrinking my sweatshirt pattern. I have kicked out three more shirts. The pattern Simplicity 1317. Has received a complete width reduction, the neckline, body and sleeve. Originally I had cut a Medium size with a broad back adjustment, I am now cutting a Small front and Medium back with small lower and neckline bands. November 9, 2014.
