Sew On....And Sew Fourth

Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Yes, I Am Still Sewing! This just might be the longest I have gone without posting on this blog since I began it. But, Springtime on the farm is so full of activity,. There is only enough time for me to keep one blog current. And so the farm blog "Tails From the Farm" wins out. I have tried in any free moments that I get to do a little sewing. Here are the latest aprons I have made. Taking "real" pictures and uploading them to my Etsy store is another thing. Links to this post.

Sew On....And Sew Fourth: 1940's Pinnies

http://sewonandsewfourth.blogspot.com/2011/08/1940s-pinnies.html

Wednesday, August 10, 2011. My favorite apron for farm chores is this 1940's pinny. That I received as a gift. I love this apron. It is lightweight and yet provides a maximum of coverage. The past week has given me a few days of rain and so I set to the task. Of recreating this pinny. My first version of it went my friend Maura. You can see it HERE. Here are a few more versions. This one I made just for me. The fabric is bees on chicken wire, of course! The next two will be for sale on my apron site.

Friday, August 14, 2015. JUST A LITTLE TWEAKING. The bushes (Red Twig Dogwoods) on either side of the tree. Are outgrowing their space and have to be continually pruned so they don't cover the window. SOthey are going to a new home. I think they have moved to one of the retention ponds. On the West Side. They are gone now and the two shrubs on the right. Were placed in to their holes. A Crape Myrtle and a Flowering Almond. I pulled the daises out as well. Looks like there is work to be done. http://missymax-thisandthat.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 31, 2015. Mollie and I are really looking forward to this. I am sitting here with a bright red face and the ends of my hair are dripping , not to mention the sweat. One hour, spent mostly in the shade doing a little watering. Was all it took. We are in our third day of low 90's! The dew points are up there as well.no rain. Several years ago it was 104! I thought a little snow might make me feel cooler. Thank goodness for air conditioning. I grew up without it.we dealt with it back then.
