A Tutorial - How to Draft a Pattern and Make a Zippered Purse with a Flat Bottom - Sew Together

A Tutorial - How to Draft a Pattern and Make a Zippered Purse with a Flat Bottom. I do like a flat bottom on a bag or purse. It creates structure, turning two squares of fabric sewn together into something more. The whole really is more than the sum of its parts, I suppose! I quite like the idea of the sides being straight up and down, rather than angling out to meet the zip. So I pondered for a while and this is what I came up with:. I hope I'm not being too confusing! If I am, let's not worry too much!

Friday, May 20, 2011. See that pretty earring there? Well it took no longer than 2 minutes to make and the results are amazing. I've been seeing various forms of this allover the internet. And I knew I just had to try it out for myself when I found this small piece of purple Venetian lace. It wasn't even 4 inches long but it was so pretty I had to do something with it. So I made earrings! What you need -. A piece of lace trim that can be cut apart or lace appliques. Scissors to cut apart lace. This proje...

Tuesday, May 15, 2012. In the Making: Box Wallets. I've been MIA for a little while. Work (my real job) has been ramping up and it is a bit insane. May and June are pretty busy months for me and it seems it gets worse every single year. Sigh! But no chatting about work. Blah! So last week I spent a bunch of time cutting and pressing a bunch of Box Wallets. I made a few for my last craft fair, and they were hot sellers. And interestingly enough, my sister's favorite item. So cutting I did! Nice stack, huh?
