Martha immediately concludes that Lionel was behind the blackmail that he claimed to have sorted out. Lionel surely proves himself. He is willing to die for Martha and Clark and he keeps Clark's secret from Lex. But surely Lex now has sufficient evidence that Clark has super-speed and super-strength? http://comicsappreciation.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 October 2014. DC Comics have Wonderwoman. The Superman titles have Supergirl. The original Captain Marvel has Mary Marvel. Mick Anglo's Marvelman had Kid Marvelman instead of a female character. Alan Moore restored a female character to the Marvel/Miracle Family:. To have seen her then, as Liz described her later: cold and glittering, a statue of cut glass, immaculate save for gauntlets darkened by unEarthly blood. Aphrodite risen from the churning foam where fell the manhood of Cronos.".

Poul Anderson Appreciation: Oscar Wilde
http://poulandersonappreciation.blogspot.com/2015/08/oscar-wilde.html
Sunday, 16 August 2015. Writers sometimes have fun imagining what a real person would say in a fictional situation. Poul Anderson gives us several historical figures but maybe not any recent or contemporary celebrities? Brian Aldiss fictionally quoted Aldous Huxley in an early novel. William Clinton spoke at Superman's funeral because he was President of the United States in 1993. Earlier, Supes had conversed with Ronald Reagan. Wilde responds, "Heavens, no! Can't stand the man! New York, 1991), p. 71.

Our starting point is determined by parents or society;. Simple templat...

Saturday, 15 August 2015. Time Travel And Alternative Histories. Imagine a Venn diagram. Comprising two overlapping circles. Circle 1 represents time travel fiction whereas Circle 2 represents alternative history fiction:. Inside Circle 1 but outside the area of overlap are (among many other works) Poul Anderson's The Corridors Of Time. However, all the alternative histories discussed so far contrast with three others presented by Anderson:. In Three Hearts And Three Lions. A man travels from our twentie...

Wednesday, 28 January 2015. Professor Milton Fine lectures on the Roman Empire, comparing it to Luthorcorp. He reveals, to the viewers, some of his alien aspect and agenda. Personal and Literary Reflections: Millennium Volume II
http://personalliteraryreflections.blogspot.com/2015/03/millennium-volume-ii.html
Personal and Literary Reflections. Wednesday, 25 March 2015. I am not going to catalogue every difference between book and film but a few more spring to mind:. Blomkvist's relationship with Harriet Vanger is left out of the second film;. The book gives a better explanation of how Blomkvist came to have the keys to Lisbeth's new apartment;. In the book, Blomkvist quickly deduces the code for Lisbeth's alarm whereas, in the film, Lisbeth remotely cancels the alarm for him;. If so, then this passage is narr...
