http://thing-tank.blogspot.com/2012/02/i-for-one-welcome-our-new-robot.html
Well it's whatever I want it to be, isn't it? Wednesday, February 1, 2012. I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords. You know that part in the horror movie where somebody does something that more or less gives the monster a perfect opportunity to eat or dismember you? Skinny dipping alone at midnight. Making out in a graveyard. Playing hide and seek in an old abandoned warehouse. You get the idea. Its almost as creepy as that chainsaw powered robot dog. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Well it's whatever I want it to be, isn't it? Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Dumb Prototypes are Brilliant. Prototyping for Elmo's Monster Maker iPhone App. Low resolution prototypes are the bomb. The quicker you can turn your ideas into something other folks can experience the better. Links to this post. Thursday, September 16, 2010. And the X Prize goes to.a gas powered car! From Johnny St.Ours. So it put a smile on my face when I read today that the winner of the Progressive Automotive X Prize. The "umb...

Well it's whatever I want it to be, isn't it? Wednesday, December 8, 2010. If you build it they will ride. But in the mean time, I had a burst of optimism when I saw this video about New York's attempt to build it so that they will come. The best part is that riding a bike is a fix for so much of what needs fixing about early 21st century urban life. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). You may also like. Who is this guy? Well it's whatever I want it to be, isn't it? Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Making Things that Matter. You may have read this New York Times article about how the US lost out on iphone work. It raises fascinating questions about what it takes to be the most desirable manufacturer for the tech industry. Its not all cost. Its cost plus flexibility plus precision. What did they have in common? Links to this post. Wednesday, February 1, 2012. I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords. You know that part in...

Well it's whatever I want it to be, isn't it? Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Visiting the Autodesk/Instructables Workshop with Artist in Residence Alejandro Palandjoglou. The other day I got to catch up with my friend, and former Stanford TA, Ale Palandjoglou. You might recall me bragging on him. When he won the Core 77 Design Award for Social Impact. Now he's working as an artist in residence at Instructables. This is another project Ale worked on- 3D printed pictures! Robot drums, because they can.

Thing Tank: Robot Apocalypse Update
http://thing-tank.blogspot.com/2014/04/robot-apocalypse-update.html
Well it's whatever I want it to be, isn't it? Friday, April 25, 2014. I saw a google self driving car for the first time about a year ago. The guy in the "driver's" seat was blissfully napping. But it was a wake up call for me. A crucial boundary between the computer world and my "meat" world is being breeched. The robots are here. This whole robots running around, willy nilly, thing makes me a little nervous. But its a whole other thing when Frank Baum's Tic Toc. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Well it's whatever I want it to be, isn't it? Thursday, April 14, 2011. Do we need more chairs? If they're like this, then yes. There's something about chairs. How they look and how they work are rather nakedly combined. There's nowhere to hide in a chair. Structure, support, material and gesture are all baked together. The Bouroullec brothers are masters of reinterpreting archetypes in ways that transform them. Their slow chair. Dematerializes the Saarinen's womb lounge. Links to this post. Happy 50th B...
