Have you ever sung hymns in church which are quite old, those that you first sang as a child, and yet it is only now that you fully realise the impact of their lyrics? In church on Sunday we sang the following hymn, and the words moved me incredibly. Shout To The Lord. Monday, March 27, 2006. New York Rangers Rocks! NEW YORK RANGERS ROCKS! Ahem I just came back from an ice hockey game: NY Rangers v Buffalo Sabres. My first ice hockey game ever but it was SO EXHILARATING! It was SUCH an exciting game, and of course we won! After 3 periods, they were tied 4-4. Then still tied in the overtime (5mins). Shout To The Lord. Saturday, April 15, 2006. So I turned 23 last Monday. I had no classes (Prof Wu cancelled one class - yippee! And spent the whole morning getting readings for my paper on the Amish. Audrey called at around 3pm as expected, and we went out for coffee at Edgar's. Then she said she had to go up to Yale and had to catch the 5pm train so she left rather promptly. I met Nat for dinner and was duly pleasantly surprised. I must tell the story chronologically for it to make the most sense.

Monday, February 28, 2005. SUDA = Southern Universities' Dancing Competition, the 2nd biggest competition of the year for inter-university dancing competitions. This year it was held in Bristol, 4.5 hours drive from Cambridge, meaning we have to leave at 4am on Sunday morning, dance all day, and then return to Cambridge at 5am on Monday morning - - Yanlan is exhausted, needs sleep, muscles killing, in desperate need of rest! I went to Shun's house last night for a Halloween party, and we had a massive pumpkin carving session :P :P Actually it was the first time I'd physically carved a pumpkin myself, so it was a pretty cool experience. Also quite dangerous, with 6 pumpkins and 6 big knives in people's hands at the same time, all trying to stab at the pumpkins! Glad that none of us stabbed items other than the pumpkins, hehe!
