Sunday, October 14, 2012. Where the Wild Things Are. I'm a city girl. I appreciate a good pavement. I am fairly comfortable with neighbours, proximity to people. I don't despise a lawn or the odd tree and quite like flowers growing in the garden, but I don't go weak at the knees at the propsect of spending all day outside surrounded by 'nature'. I quite like inside. Nature, I feel, has. 65279;. Of the snakes in our area are 'medically significant'. Seed or grass ticks, for example, won't do you fatal...

Monday, January 26, 2009. Do a Blog. Say it was Horrible. Somewhere around 200 000 downloads per hour (yes, that is the right number of zeroes, one. A number sufficient to crash the server hosting it). The show was written, produced, created, and whatever other verb tends to get added by Joss Whedon and his crew, the guy behind. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not about Angelology so that you don’t completely betray your Whedonisque ignorance), the short-lived. Had it survived), and most recently. It is the ki...

Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Our house is awesome. We can't quite believe we live here. This is the view looking out the front window. And these fellows come and visit every day. And this little chap sits proprietarily on the washing line every morning, just to make sure things are as they should be. We really like this house. JMB. Links to this post. Saturday, August 11, 2012. Here he is, so tired he's almost drunk, with the incriminating evidence. And not a whisker of an apology anywhere. JMB. Reflectio...

Sunday, October 26, 2008. Signs You Are In Another Country Part I. One of the things we have really enjoyed about living in England has been the signs about the place. The English, so we are told, love to be instructed, which is the function of most signs. The English also have a far more sophisticated approach to the (wait for it). Language than that with which most Australians function. This is the land where. Is more of an instruction manual on the. A la Yes Minister. First, there is the explanation o...

Thursday, November 1, 2012. Photo of the month. At Grandpa's farm; just after the madness set in. I really like this photo. It has two of my favourite people. It captures Australian light really well. It also captures something of both people. JMB. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mark and jennie baddeley. Reflections upon life under God. Updates randomly, depending on the level of tumult caused by our little boys. Photo of the month. Brisbane, QLD, Australia. View my complete profile.

Wednesday, November 26, 2008. One of the features of our unit which gives us great pleasure is the window in the dining/lounge room. It faces out over Oxford and helps us realise what season we are in. A tree grows just outside this window. In summer it completely blocks the view of the road and the surrounding suburb. It's luscious green leaves soak up the excess heat and unit feels enclosed within a glen type arrangement. It feels refreshing just looking out the window. Links to this post. The first is...

baddelim: April 2010
http://baddelim.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 23, 2010. So why is April 23rd so special? Well, there are probably heaps of reasons. But there's no reason why we should choose today to actually post something on this poor, forsaken blog. Except that life has slowed down slightly for 15 minutes and we thought we should update those long-suffering souls who check in from time to time. Thanks, by the way. What have we been up to? That's about where we're up to. Baddeley's, Christmas, 2009. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Saturday, August 30, 2008. Praying for us: the August Edition. Thank you to the lovely people who've asked how we were going and said that they have prayed for us. We greatly appreciate your concern and interest. Here are some things to give thanks for and to pray for us as we head into September, if you are so inclined. Please pray that God will enable Mark to finish the dissertation on time and without further difficulty, and thank God for answering our prayers and restoring Mark to health. As you know...

Saturday, July 21, 2012. Both our boys like to dig. Other boys throw snowballs when they are in the snow. Ours dig. Other boys build sand castles when they are at the beach. Ours dig. Digging holes, the bigger the better, is a serious occupation. 'Dig' was one of the first words in both their emerging vocabularies. Which is why I was very keen for us to have a sandpit. I really like the sandpit. JMB. Links to this post. Sunday, July 15, 2012. Water, water everywhere. Links to this post. Whirpool, rip tid...
