Thoughts from the Crypt. Ramana sir rightfully reprimanded me for being a terrible role model for the LBC group. What can I say, except that I am sorry🙂. More often than not, fear is like a wave, coming and going in different intensities. In the face of sudden adversity, you keep fear aside and let adrenalin do the talking. But once the adversity passes, the adrenalin wanes and then the fear of consequences begin to emerge. Questions like, was it really worth saying what I did? November 28, 2014.

Unmentionable Topics For TED | Thoughts from the Crypt

Thoughts from the Crypt. Unmentionable Topics For TED. I guess its old age, but I had myself forgotten about this topic😛 But if we have to talk about unmentionable topics, these days, virtually everything is unmentionable. I asked myself why they were racist? Is it because they poked fun at hindus, muslims and buddhists? And should I not give the author the benefit of the doubt or are we intent on assuming the worst in people? Lets get off our high horses, shall we? January 9, 2015 at 3:49 pm. January 1...

Does being older and being experienced mean the same? | Thoughts from the Crypt
https://ashokgv.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/does-being-older-and-being-experienced-mean-the-same
Thoughts from the Crypt. Does being older and being experienced mean the same? It made me reflect upon the term experience . If I have to analyse the term in terms of a simple equation, Experience= Amount of time spent doing something X the wisdom gained from the time and effort so invested. See, that is the challenge. I can no longer validate the ego and the false sense of prestige on the ground that I am as human as my role models who are its victims. Why? This little schedule, this life pattern this i...

Teaching Values | Thoughts from the Crypt

Thoughts from the Crypt. This post is part of my writing endeavor as a member of the loose blogger’s consortium. The other bloggers are as under. Give them a visit, they are bunch of hell raisers you wouldn’t want to miss ;) Rummuser. Teaching Indian scriptures like the BG before children can understand the subject puts off many children from such lessons and they even become atheists or worse ELIMs. I would entrust my grandchildren to your teachings! The Instant Fossil Factory. Where ideas are sedimentary, dear Watson . Saturday, October 18, 2014. My granddaughter Danica, 10 months. Ashok brought us this topic and I immediately thought of my newest granddaughter and of the game of Peek a Boo. That made me think of her development and started my research. But, science doesn't allow a theory to stand on the merit of its beauty of though alone and observation with clever experiments and better ability to observe have thrown this into question. gaelikaa's diary: Women's Health Month
http://gaelikaasdiary.blogspot.com/2015/05/womens-health-month.html
Sometimes about my expat life in India. Sometimes about my writing life. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Did anyone who reads this blog by any chance know that May is Women's Health Month? Indeed, some may ask, why should there be a women's health month? I was invited to write this post regarding Women's Health Month by an insurance company called Oscar. I'm not getting anything in exchange for writing this post, but they did supply me with a rather nice checklist of items to keep in mind regarding your heal...

The Instant Fossil Factory: Teaching Values
http://instantfossil.blogspot.com/2014/09/teaching-values.html
The Instant Fossil Factory. Where ideas are sedimentary, dear Watson . Friday, September 5, 2014. Disclaimer: this piece relies heavily on cultural stereotyping. Sorry about that, but I need archetypes to illustrate my point. My bad. There are many types of mothers in many cultures in our world. Some of the most notorious are Jewish mothers when it comes to passing along values, conscience and ethics to their children. How do they do this? How many Jewish mothers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
