Passion from a Stone: Fruit – It’s what’s for dinner!
http://passionstone.blogspot.com/2012/10/fruit-its-whats-for-dinner.html
Thursday, October 25, 2012. Fruit – It’s what’s for dinner! I have shared this strategy with quite a few people and a number of times those same people have come back to me to tell me how much they appreciated the idea. So, it must be blog worthy. Right? At least this is the case when you have children of the stubborn variety. I hear tales of kids who always eat everything that they are offered and regularly try new foods…but I believe that they are either myths or outliers. Caveat – we know famili...

Passion from a Stone: November 2011
http://passionstone.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Things I’m looking forward to this long weekend (in no particular order):. 1 – Spending time with the kids while they are surrounded by relatives and friends someplace other than our house. This means that I won’t be multi-tasking on chores while spending time with them and they will (probably) be on their best behavior because of the other people. Also, they will spend time playing with others while I sit and watch (and knit). Also, this post is to remind myself that the cr...

Passion from a Stone: February 2012
http://passionstone.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 25, 2012. Sometimes it is daunting to try to capture a moment in time in a blog post. It is easier when I am remembering an anecdote or talking about a specific topic. But I find it almost overwhelming to summarize an age or summarize what my kids are like “right now”. I do it, because I know it is something that my family and I will value in the future. Heather is five. Five? I went back and read what I wrote last year. Four. Quite a lot of it still applies. There are more movies ...

Passion from a Stone: July 2012
http://passionstone.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 15, 2012. I am not sure what is more sad…the fact that I have only posted once this year. Or the fact that I posted in a timely fashion about Heather’s birthday and not about Todd's. So let’s bring the number of posts for the year up to two by talking about our little man who is now three. There are pros and cons of being a second child. I’m not talking about competitive comparisons, just “isn’t that interesting” comparisons.). Three doesn’t seem as monumental as it did the first time. He ca...

AJKnitting: In which I pretend a year hasn't passed since my last post
http://ajknitting.blogspot.com/2011/09/in-which-i-pretned-year-hasnt-passed.html
Thursday, September 8, 2011. In which I pretend a year hasn't passed since my last post. Wait, what's that? It is only September you say? Trust me. It is time. Once again the EJ knows exactly what she wants to be for Halloween this year. I asked her a second time and she replies with annoyance in her voice "I already told you I want to be Angelina! More specifically Angelina Ballerina as the Rose Fairy Princess. I have however managed to develop a plan. Should be a fun ride. Make your own badge here.

AJKnitting: May 2010
http://ajknitting.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 21, 2010. I just love the trend of layering scarves over an outfit. I had been working on my first knit shawl for way too long. almost a year I think, but I am so happy to have it finished! It is the Fountain Pen Shawl from an Interweave Knits magazine from 2009. I didn't make it as large as the pattern suggested, because I wanted to wear it as a scarf and not a shawl. It was a lot of fun to watch it change after blocking it! Check out her blog. And take a look around! Saturday, May 1, 2010.

Monday, September 13, 2010. The incredible shrinking sweater! Surly it is the sweater getting smaller right? EJ looks exactly the same. Special thanks to blogless Erin for her ability to knit baby sweaters that fit toddlers as shrugs. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This is a Flickr badge showing public photos from ajkretchun. AJKnitting: Banana muffin, with options
http://ajknitting.blogspot.com/2010/10/banana-muffin-with-options.html
Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Banana muffin, with options. I might not be a cupcake person, but I love muffins. I started to make them more often after EJ was diagnosed with her soy allergy because it is an easy breakfast to send with her to school and they freeze great. Not eating them all before they cool becomes the tricky part for me. Preheat oven to 350. 1 1/2 cup flour. 1 cup rolled oats. 1/2 cup packed brown sugar. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 1/3 cup of milk.
