http://transientlives.blogspot.com/2010/11/fostering-furry-babies.html
Tuesday, November 16, 2010. It has been a long time since my past post . am back with a resolution to be more regular. One thing (or rather five! That has been taking center stage at home is this litter of five kittens that we have been fostering for a month now. Austin Pets Alive. These babies came to us when they were 2 weeks old. Three black kittens, all female, and two tuxedo kittens, one male and one female. All five of the same litter. Once they finished eating, they had to be "stimulated", since t...

May 26, 2009 at 11:38 am ( 3 am. I have been away too long. We have been searching for a new home and the journey to find this place has taken our time and energy, but boy is it worth it…because now I believe this place will give that energy back ten fold. It feels like it will be a very peaceful place to be and call our home. I have been sewing a little on the side to help myself feel calm during these transitions. Here is an example. This little bag was a Mother’s day gift to my mom. Oh, laney, i am so...

Cheryl's Chatelaine: Santa the Baker Ornament.
http://cherylschatelaine.blogspot.com/2011/12/santa-baker-ornament.html
Thursday, December 1, 2011. Santa the Baker Ornament. Another ornament from my collection. This one is probably about 12 years old. It had a stitch guide with a delightful array of stitches and beads which made it very fun to work on. The little fimo clay charms came with the piece, and are ever so tiny. I loved to cook during that period of my life. One of my favorite cookie recipes:. 1 cup butter, softened. 1 cup vegetable oil. 1 cup confectioners' sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. A Louisa May Alcott...

Cheryl's Chatelaine: August 2011
http://cherylschatelaine.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 22, 2011. The Future's so bright I wanna wear shades! Wowis this a bright CQ block or what! I just completed the last of my tone on tone RR blocks, and the color for this one was yellow. What a challenge to do justice to Diane's beautiful block. These blocks are going to be used for a crazy quilt for her grandson, so she wanted a lot of "bling" and I needed to lay low on laces and SRE which are more girly girl. What child doesn't like a sunny day? Sunday, August 7, 2011. Gerry Krueger's Bl...

Transient Lives: April 2010
http://transientlives.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 2, 2010. It's wildflower season in Austin! It's been almost three months since my last post, and I've been trying to get motivated to start blogging again. And spring in Austin brought me the motivation I was looking for! It's been a very wet winter here, with lots and lots of rain. Maybe as a result, the roadsides are completely bursting with color now - it's wildflower season in Austin! Spring is so fleeting in Austin . all this will melt away soon and the dreaded Texas heat will soon...

Wednesday, July 29, 2009. A package from Shady Grove. Last week I was the lucky winner of a giveaway on Chris' blog. If you haven't been there before, you must visit. She posts beautiful pictures of the Wisconsin countryside, and shares her art and creations as well. On Friday last week I received the package in the mail, and it was pretty exciting. Inside were the earrings I had requested, a card, and an extra snowflake ornament gift too! Please take a moment to go check out Chris' blog. Rained here aft...

http://cherylschatelaine.blogspot.com/2011/11/look-ahead-to-2012.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. A look ahead to 2012. 2012 is going to be one busy year. I have made some commitments to a few major projects that I want to focus on for the year. The first one is the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2012. I want to do more ribbonwork and silk ribbon embroidery. And I want to make more peacocks. Oh how I love them! In conjunction with the Journal project I am going to be doing Take a Stitch Tuesday with Sharon Boggon at Pintangle. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Laurie's Do...

Cheryl's Chatelaine: Another Peacock Block that sets the tone
http://cherylschatelaine.blogspot.com/2012/01/another-peacock-block-that-sets-tone.html
Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Another Peacock Block that sets the tone. My CQJP 2012 is going to have lots of peacocks, paisleys, and fans. Here is another peacock I made a while back that will eventually go into my quilt. I have decided on doing 9 12" squares. I embroidered the peacock tail using princess perle thread and beads. It was a free motif somewhere off the internet. My January block is pieced. Now I can get to the fun part! January 4, 2012 at 2:20 PM. 9825;❤♡. January 5, 2012 at 1:59 PM.

Transient Lives: December 2009

Tuesday, December 29, 2009. The Best Walk in Austin. I do believe I live in one of the prettiest parts of Texas. For just a street away from ours is a greenbelt that extends for miles and miles into the center of Austin. This greenbelt was the main attraction that convinced us that we were choosing the correct house to live in. And it has certainly not disappointed. We could still have waded across, but we took a longer, drier route into the greenbelt some days ago. This beautiful greenbelt has a network...
