Shailja Patel: "When a man invades a woman´s body space without her invitation. he violates her sovereignty of person. He evicts her from her own body". Total deprivation of justice in innumerable cases. Customs and cultures condone so much injustice for women. It appears clear to me that silence also in these spaces where I normall...

About | VIOLA's IRIS
https://violasiris.wordpress.com/about
The name Iris has its origin from the Greeks meaning rainbow. Iris was a messenger of the gods who rode on rainbows between heaven and earth. When I think of the word Iris I remember lying in the long cool grass that grew behind my grandmother’s house. Lost in there all by myself looking up at the blue sky and making out shapes in the clouds. Thanks wouldn...

May neither Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches. May she be Beautiful but not Damaged, for it’s the Damage that draws the creepy soccer coach’s eye, not the Beauty. I’m asking You, because if I knew, I’d be doing it, Youdammit.
