Dust from my mouth, honey from my fingertips. In April, Or December. April 24, 2007. In April, Or December. When you need sleep the way you need the air,. At work you list the things you want to read,. Just try (a little) to pretend you care,. Doze in your car in parking lots, and wear. The same clothes every day. ‘Cause what you need,. When you need sleep the way you need the air. Is not just sleep, but someone for your stare. To settle on enough to hear her plead. A hospitalized friend, a dog to feed.

Dust from my mouth, honey from my fingertips. Ars Poetica (From A Non-Poet). April 19, 2007. Ars Poetica (From A Non Poet). Let us say that I hold my tongue to the silence of wingbeats. And keep moonlit still to watch the moss consume the tomb. Of Horace, to watch its green claws tear to sullen rubble. The throne of David, and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Let us say I build with all the care of Daedalus a golden temple. Dedicated to the worship of synecdoche and the word “thanatotic,”. Then can I mean?

So I just got myself an iPhone and, while I’ve had a iPod Touch for quite some time now, I hadn’t really given thought to my old blogs until now. And, well, huh. I had completely forgotten about this one. Since things are going to be changing around here now, I’ll just lay out what it used to be when it was first made. I don’t know. I was way more of an asshole then) and the posts...Fill in...

Dust from my mouth, honey from my fingertips. April 10, 2007. The little magnet thermometer I stuck. To the side of your tired Nissan. Is still there, though it has followed you. To Chico and back,. To Atascadero and back,. From end to end of our long state. It has chased you through the world,. Telling you how hot it is, never letting go. Is it that the magnet is strong? People say magnets route the energy. Of the universe, that. Or they can kill. And if that’s so, then such a small. To cling so steadily.

Dust from my mouth, honey from my fingertips. April 24, 2007. I see you,. Of red plush seats,. When I fall silent,. Fall from your lips. Is not your rank. Sweetness. I need. The blood you bit. Out of your lip,. The winces, laughs. You stifled into coughs,. So I can taste you as. Of sugar in fresh coffee. Sweet bitter on the whole. Of my tongue, and hear. The way the truth sounds. On blank paper, know. Which tears are for the lights. And which you cry for me. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Fermina on On Genre.

Dust from my mouth, honey from my fingertips. On the nature of language, and how I’m kind of a picky bastard sometimes. September 23, 2007. Think about “The Answer That Increasingly Appeals”–where’s the body in that? Or the thesis statement? Although, I suppose, that particular essay almost does have one.) Or the transition sentences? Does that make sense? One Response to “On the nature of language, and how I’m kind of a picky bastard sometimes”. September 27, 2007 at 3:12 am. The end of the story? There...

Dust from my mouth, honey from my fingertips. September 11, 2007. Said: CNF is characterized by experimentation with form. I want to start off with this claim. Creative Nonfiction has two primary characteristics: storytelling and meaning making. I think all CNF will contain at last some elements of both of those things. That said, we can use those two elements as a way of understanding the different subgenres. Do you guys understand what I mean when I say meaning making? What do you guys think? That said...

August 31, 2007. 8220;On Subtlety” (Assignment #0). 8212; loganchance @ 7:23 am. Truth be told, I’m a horrific liar and the names have been changed. Three thousand words on a homophobic high school sports star still in the closet about his own sexuality. Thinking about it that way, I could have been more subtle. Danny calls me a dumbass. A familiar mantra. Today, it’s worth it. Who knows how much I’ll pay tomorrow. Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Shari Caudron, “Befriending Barbie” | Working Writer

October 4, 2007. Shari Caudron, “Befriending Barbie”. 8212; loganchance @ 4:28 am. I would have liked it to simply be about Judy, with the Barbie story surrounding it. I think there was humanity in it, whereas the rest of the story had an uncomfortable Christopher Guest vibe to it that just didn’t jive with the strongest point of it – that a community’s a community regardless of its reason for existing. 1 Comment ».
