A(nother) Girl's Perspective: I Travel In My Own Way
http://reeseny.blogspot.com/2013/10/i-travel-in-my-own-way.html
Guys Rolling With Girls. October 4, 2013. I Travel In My Own Way. When I first started training, I did almost entirely nogi grappling. Minimal kickboxing, no fancy outfits.I only picked up a cheap blue Fuji and began to grudgingly do one of the gi classes after a few months of being hassled into it. At the time, I vehemently insisted that gi "just wasn't my thing" and was therefore totally unconcerned with the whole concept of ranks and belts. HAH! You travel in your own way.". A(nother) Girl's Perspective: February 2012

Guys Rolling With Girls. February 11, 2012. In Which I Become a Badass. Wellnot really, but at least I'm moving in the right direction. In the grand scheme of things, I still know nothing. I'm a total newb. And I still spend half the time feeling like WTF am I doing? Thing was not quite as thrilling. When he started, I asked him to please try not to break anything, which he found funny, laughed at and then proceeded to try to break everythin. Last Monday, I stay. Had stopped in for the afternoon, and hol...

A(nother) Girl's Perspective: About Me
http://reeseny.blogspot.com/p/about.html
Guys Rolling With Girls. I am a white belt at Ronin Athletics. In NYC and hit the gym 4-5 times a week for kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It's been tough but equally fun. I absolutely love my gym, I love the people that I train with, who've supported me since day one, and in spite of the bruises, pulled muscles and blisters, I'm having an amazing time. A(nother) Girl's Perspective: February 2013
http://reeseny.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Guys Rolling With Girls. February 19, 2013. I know I've dropped off the map for a while when it comes to maintaining my blog, but in my defense I'm at the gym 4-5 times a week and it's hard to find time to come home and then write about it. I didn't mean to disappear either but finding a happy balance has never been my forte. The article, which has received major backlash due to its blatant sexism, is titled " Can Women Really Handle Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? What would Jean Jacques Machado do? This is why Ke...

The Gentle Art: Diet
http://thegentleartgirl.blogspot.com/2010/12/diet.html
I fight like a girl. Sunday, December 19, 2010. So eating right is not normally a problem except for*. Ok all men not secure in their masculinity or still have the maturity of an 18 year old please stop reading. Once a month. Unfortunately I don't have any physical indicators for this time anymore so my only warning is a sudden desire to eat everything in sight. This usually includes threatening phone calls to my husband with ultimatums like bring me chocolate or lose a dangley. Burning out at both ends.

Shama Ko Photography: July 2010
http://shamakophotography.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Just doing what I love and loving what I do. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. The only way one gets good at something is by practicing it. One way I keep in practice with my photography is to make assignments for myself. Some ideas I have developed are to:. 1) Create areas of photography that I'd like to get better at or fine tune areas that I already excel in ;. 2) Come up with creative and fun project ideas for no other purpose other than to have fun;. My most recent project was to shoot Austin by night. I ...

Just doing what I love and loving what I do. Sunday, August 23, 2009. Mary Ellen Mark-documentary photographer. I was first introduced to the work of Mary Ellen Mark about four years ago. My mother gave me her book "American Odyssey Aperture." I recall my mother saying, "I think you will really like her work, it kind of reminds me of yours." As expected, I instantly fell in love with the genuineness of her images. Thursday, August 20, 2009. Overcoming the challenges of indoor sports photography. Indoor s...
