On loving things critically | Things Genny Loves
https://nofrillsfox.wordpress.com/2015/04/19/on-loving-things-critically
Feminism, fashion, pop culture, diy and living simple. On loving things critically. OH HEY THIS BLOG. Nice to see you. It’s been a really, really long time. I dunno. I know there aren’t scores and scores of you hooked on this thing, so I didn’t really drop the ball as badly as I could. It’s just kind of hard to come back after the last few posts I did. How do you do that? Wait almost a year and a half is the solution to that, I guess. The acting is utterly incredible, generally. Tatiana Maslany. Is compl...

Yam Fries: Dream Fable
http://theyamfries.blogspot.com/2011/04/dream-fable.html
Life and times, really. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. I had a dream a few nights ago that just knocked my socks off. And usually, I don't remember them. I just have this feeling after I wake up of knowing that I was involved in something awesome. Usually with a few Australian animals and a light show. The original dream involved myself and my two siblings, but I've changed it in this rendering. It's spooky (and long) so consider yourself warned. None of the children told their parents what they had seen. ...

Yam Fries: June 2011
http://theyamfries.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Life and times, really. Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Links live in the wilds . It must be after dinner. So, after making a "what's laying around" salad (romaine, radishes, cucumber, and a quickie vinaigrette) and seafood pasta (shrimp with herbs, pepper, chili flakes, garlic and olive oil tossed in kamut penne), I decided to relax a little in the mighty sea of blogs. Well, it probably doesn't come as a surprise that I love me a good fashion blog. And beyond the Satorialist. Yours Truly, x. What I Wore Today.

Yam Fries: October 2010
http://theyamfries.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Life and times, really. Sunday, October 31, 2010. Wanna Go Out With Me? I know the title of this post seems a direct contradiction to the last one. Not so, oh sweet morsels of the Interwebs. Not so. There is a difference between consentual and mutually pleasurable interaction between people and just all-out objectification. But I feel like I should explain that post seperately. And I will. So, keep looking. 1 The Archie Comics Date. Go to drive in. Share one milkshake with two straws. Hot Tub Time Machine.

Yam Fries: Back in TV Land
http://theyamfries.blogspot.com/2011/05/back-in-tv-land.html
Life and times, really. Saturday, May 7, 2011. Back in TV Land. If you know my family, like at all, the fact that we haven't had cable TV in nine years probably won't surprise you. We traded it in to send money to a Foster Child in Niger. Even though it took some adjusting at first, we've really liked not having it. In Hometown, we have cases and cases of DVDs and a whole lot of VHS tapes from when we were kids. Dad has even gone the route of a big ol' flat screen and a Blu-ray player. Things more. O...

Yam Fries: May 2011
http://theyamfries.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Life and times, really. Sunday, May 15, 2011. I enjoy the luxury of complaining and of making mistakes that won't cost me my livelihood, my dignity or my freedom, as so many little things could do for women beyond my cushy existence. I'm typing right now, which means I have a computer, internet access, a free voice in my country, and that I am literate. This is all I have. Links to this post. Saturday, May 7, 2011. Back in TV Land. What I've liked about the switch was the ability to pause, and to play wh...

Yam Fries: September 2010
http://theyamfries.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Life and times, really. Monday, September 27, 2010. I walk down the red and white and brick halls, and see the places where she was. I never met Eva, but she is everywhere. She's a part of this building, and these people, and she is therefore a part of me, in some way. Our department recently had a memorial for her, where we saw a screening of her documentary, 65 redroses, which was - for a lack of better words - amazing. Her blog can be found by clicking here. Which is now available on DVD. A little ent...

Yam Fries: January 2011
http://theyamfries.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Life and times, really. Monday, January 17, 2011. Oh, sweet blog. I should really be sleeping. I smell like papier maché and I have been awake since six. Sleep would be good. But instead, el bloggo. I've just been thinking about the sheer insanity that is the life I am currently leading. Tomorrow, I'm going to put on a fake belly, and pretend to be in the first stages of birth in front of my friends, instructors and other students. Should I feel as though this way of educating myself is self-serving?
