For those who just want to skip to the punch line: I have malaria, but I got the medications this evening and should be feeling fine in a couple of days as they kick in. I don’t even feel that terrible now, just fatigued and achy, but the cyclic late afternoon fever was a give-away and I took myself to get tested. Vigilance above all.
