Capo Recipes: March 2012
http://caporecipes.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Back on point; I found myself longing for the beach. I was in Old City for a lunch and realized I was a block from Shane's Confectionery. I was a block away from the beach. Shane Confectionery is the sister store to the Franklin Fountain. I am so happy to live in a city that this type of commitment exists and thrives. We were lucky enough to score a free ride there, thanks to a fellow counsellor heading out to New Jersey. Although we took a couple of wrong turns (meaning I got to see the beautiful Benjamin Franklin Bridge more than once) we eventually got dropped off right in front of our hostel. The Philadelphia House. How big is the box? Now there is als...

fading from the day: September 2013
http://www.fadingfromtheday.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 1, 2013. Philadelphia, in May. The first trip I took on my sabbatical was to Philadelphia. I figured it would be a good place to start for solo traveling practice since I'd been there before, it's relatively nearby, and there were some things I wanted to do that I missed last time. The first thing I did was go to the Mütter Museum. I then got lunch at a cafe that is also an Ethiopian restaurant. And then over to Eastern State Penitentiary. The next morning I stopped by an amazing histor...
